| I think a 58-0 scoreline is impressive against any super league side..However other teams fans seem reluctant to give any credit...

| Quins had a lot of plyers back in their team today and Catalan were down to 12 for most of second half, we would not have put 58 on the Quins team that played today. IMHO

| They had four players back. They have some very good London based players now and their reliance on overseas players has decreased to the extent that they have less overseas players in their side than most other Clubs.

| The problem was that every time they won a game opposition fans would complain about the number of Aussies they had!

| That was the worst London team on paper and on the pitch Ive seen in 20 years last week. Different team and attitude today. Beat Catalans in every dept today- We went over there line 3 or 4 more times with held up decisions given.
Ferriol went when the game was lost. Punching due to frustration, slapped the water carrier on his way off!!!

| Can SL afford to keep a team in the league who get crowds of less than 3000 , Catalans at least get decent home crowds but quinns have terrible following home and away . Time to go IMHO !

| Crowds are shocking but you need an outlet for all the junior production that happens down there.
Yes their crowds suck and they have bad turnover but I bet they score almost every other of the ten points, easily a B grade club

| they are in a vicious circle. crowds will only come and watch when they are doing ok on the pitch, but they need more crowds to get that game breaker to get the results on the pitch which will make the crowds come. they are now produing good quality youngsters who see the club as a place to play pro rl. after the whipping last week, they needed to win this game, and by all accounts were good value for it. they have a great infrastructure and in a few years could have a full southern side. all that said though, they need to be getting many more than they did yesterday

| They now have more home grown players than quite a few other sides. The junior set up in the South appears to be thriving and both Quins and the Skolars are going to need help for a while yet. The best london promotion that I've seen was the one that Cas did a few years ago. They had sponsored travel to London and as a result there was a gate of over 8000. The game needs a side in London. We cannot carry on as M62 based.

Which is intersting when I hear this from so called fans of the games. so did you go the game on saturday? do you travel to every away match?
I got a call from a london fan who lives in colchester. due to buses replacing trains they decided to travel to watch the Wire v Cas game as it involved a 5 hour round trip as opposed to 7 1/2 to get to the Stoop. They went to the George hotel first then off to Cas. There looking to stay in the George when they play Hudds away later in the year.
Many London fans tavel longer for a home game than the lots of fans going to away games. This makes it even more of a mockery when the majority of season ticket holders won't travel 6 miles to Saints away.

| People need to lay off Harlequins. They are doing great things with junior development down there, and the sport needs a presence in the capital.
Yes their crowds should be better, but if anyone should be getting criticised for this matter then Salford would be at the front of the queue.

you can hardly blame them for their crowds. i mean lots of great football teams in London ie; nal, chelsea, spurs etc not to menshion RU, wasps, london irish and of course Quins. RL is hardly no. one chocie of sport down their really isit?

I'm not so sure they should be better though y'know.
I think you're right by the way, junior development etc, they've come on leaps and bounds, and they're reaping the rewards with LMS, Sharp etc.
Back to crowds, you look at that squad, would you buy a season ticket, I wouldn't, It's dull as dishwater. I joked last week that they used to be fun to watch as the Broncos, with Aussies, but they were, Richie Barnett, McLinden, folk of that ilk, they put bums on seats.
It's not so long ago, 2005 I think, under Rea, they operated with Leulaui, Dorn & McLinden as the pivots, with Hopkins, Haumono etc in the pack, they were great to watch on their day, exciting like.
It's a product isn't it, it has to have appeal, I can understand the fans lethargy, we had it on a smaller scale last year, under Lowes, tickets down, vibe downtrodden etc.
Under McDermott, he just seems to sign mediocre backrowers, over & over.

| Agree their team won't exactly appeal to new fans, nor have they got any big name ex NRL players to entice the capital's sizeable antipodean community down to the Stoop. Hopefully a couple of London born superstars will emerge, a cockney equivalent of Kyle Eastmond, or maybe an exciting outside back from South London to bring the crowds in. Like you say they are definitely heading in the right direction.
I wasn't trying to criticise their crowds too much, and in answer to your question no I wouldn't buy a season ticket as much for the poor quality of the rugby as the lack of atmosphere when fans only occupy one or two sides of the stadium.IMO they shouldn't really be getting sub 3000 crowds, this would be a minimum for me.
What annoys me is when Quins are unfairly targetted for criticism by some fans, while an M62 'heatland' club escapes a mention most of the time. Salford's crowds are truly abysmal.
