the intensity lacking comes from the fact that our much of our muscle this season has either started off the bench or been sat in the stands longer than they have been on the pitch.
It really is time to say farewell to Moz and Carvs.

Were you disillusioned with the game when Brian Brady played because the playoff format was even more mickey mouse then, wasn't it just a straight knock out so no advantage for finishing top? Do you remember the year when Warrington topped the league and then Dewsbury won from 8th with Stevo in the team?
It was only in Brady's last couple of seasons that they made it so the league champions were the proper champions.
Personally I think Huddersfield should be crowned champions if they win the league and if Warrington win at Old Trafford from 2nd or 3rd then I wonder how many of our fans will be permanently put off rugby league.

| Who once said "perception is reality". If a significant group of people believe regular games are immaterial, then that is the reality. Doesn't matter if they are correct or not, because they are not renewing their ST's.
The playoff format was broke the minute Leeds won from 5th two years in a row. I reckon 2014 will be the last year with the current system before they modify it in an attempt to breathe new life into it.

| Fail to see how the system is broken because Leeds won it twice from fifth. It's a play off, anyone who's in it can win, that's the whole point.
What revolutionary idea will supposedly fix this broken system? Drop it down to six again? No wait, five?
That'll teach those Yorkshire scoundrels!

| Making it harder to get into the playoffs will make the season more interesting rather than having a team sleepwalk through the season but still finish comfortably in the 8 and only then bothering to turn it on when the knockout stuff comes around.

I don't.
Perhaps we could have sqeezed another season out of him but he's getting injury prone.
And you wouldn't make him surplus to requirements for a direct replacement of a much younger ever present prop?
Ever present when he's not biting players ears that is!!!

| Three questions you need to find the answers to.
1. How many games have Warrington played in 2013?
2. How many games has Carvell played in?
3. Of the games he missed, how many were due to injury?

| The play off structure isn't the problem. The lack of enough quality players to have genuine competition for those play off places is the problem.
You can tinker with the play offs all you want but it won't solve the underlying problem.
Realistically you need a minimum of five teams which wouldn't solve the "problem" of a team winning it from fifth.

| Personally I would like to see.
1. The league winners being crowned "Champions", and receiving a large trophy and the largest amount of prize money in the game, with each team member receiving a medal.
2. The Grand final trophy winners being called just that.
3. The magic weekend scrapping and having the 8 games of the last 16 teams in the Challenge Cup all being played ( 4 games per day) in its place.
But that's probably a bit too simple for the RFL to come up with?

Perhaps the RFL has to consider the consequences of the loss revenue that your plan would lead to?
How would you replace the lost revenue generated from the play-offs, including a 70,000+ crowd at Old Trafford, and the reduction in TV revenue?

There would not be a loss of revenue. Teams would still play the same amount of games , excluing the , Magic weekend.
If the weekly rounds were more meaningful more people would attend, and not take the attitude that it doesn't matter because it only matters at the end of the season.
The Grand Final should still attract the same crowd, as it does now, as they are still competeing for the same trophy. I haven't said anywhere to scrap the Grand Final Trophy playoffs.

What do you mean they are playing for the same trophy? You've already said the Grand Final has been replaced as the major trophy by the league table champions.
Do you seriously believe that a "Grand Final" that was in effect an post season jolly would attract a crowd of 70,000+?
To be honest if you think this then you're probably right; you are too simple for the RFL.

I think Magic Weekend is one of the few 'innovations' that the RFL have come up with in recent times that has been successful. I personally loved it and go for the whole weekend every year. One of the problems for me with Magic is that there are too many fans of their club and not enough fans of the sport. By which I mean, some fans are only interested in watching their own team and won't bother with any game that doesn't involve them, making Magic weekend a waste of time & money for them. I'm a fan of the sport and will sit through all the games over the weekend and thoroughly enjoy it. This is the same problem we have with the national squad. Too many people can't leave their blinkered team bias at the door.
