| Powell deserves to go, he coaches the team, our defence is woeful, we skip a yard after the opposition ptb, then jus wait passively in a line and let the opposition make an easy ten yard gain, this marches us down the pitch time and time again, forcing us back deep into our own half, time and time again. We have to then make our forwards work out of our own half before we get into attacking positions. Sorry my mistake did I say our forwards, I meant an Ashton, Thewlis, or whichever lightweight winger / centre to take the ball up, first two drives to compensate for our unfit / fat lazy forwards, barring Vaughn who is being flogged atm. Every man and his dog, even stevie wonders dog, know who is taking the first 2 hit ups. Whichever opposition we face the forwards Re foaming at the mouth lining up our backs like school boy bullies. There is no variation, is that down to the players? Or the coach? Earlier in the year we had a modicum of variation in our play, that has gone, I though the appointment of Marshall as our defensive coach had changed things, we now appear to be back to the dross of last year. Small points, but earlier in the year our kick offs, almost every single one were landing, behind the post giving the opposition the full length of the pitch to come back at us. Now every kick off seems to be dropping short of the 20. These are just small small observations, but again this must be coached. Are we not fit enough, or fast enough to get up on the opposite team?
Moving on to attack, where start, blimeyni could be here all night, but the obvious, williams can not operate behind a beaten pack, we are light, kasiano, is the new Leikvol, / loads of other foreign bums we’ve had over the last few years, does 20 minutes at most and is blowing for 10 of those 20, drinkwater is pedestrian , but 10 x better than Mata’utia, and our best half ball bar williams on loan at Castelford, is Dean any good, who knows when it’s play one drop one, play one drop one, will we ever know if he doesn’t get a run on games in the team. gareth o Brian anyone, he would stroll into this team atm along with George king, Charnley, leagues top try scorer, anyway I digress. Okay Powell didn’t get rid of O’Brien and king, but did fetch in minikin, Mata’utia and all the other under achievers who have already been shown the door. At the end of the day it is Powell who is overseeing our team, it’s is Powell’s team who have conceded overlap tries more than once over the past 2 seasons when having a man advantage, Powell who took us closest to relegation last year. Does the book stop with him, Coaching wise it had to. Who else is to blame?
Powell Out please. Fitzpatrick has overseen not a lot apart from a suprise win against Saints at Wembley a few years back, Another abject pie eater who shouldn’t be anywhere near our club, I’ve been watching the wire since 1975 season ticket holder and love the club, but am so disheartened atm. Come on Moran, get rid of the under achievers starting with KF & DP.

There’s a fella in the NRL on the coaching staff of one of the clubs who sit top of the league, bit of a legend in these parts. His appointment would unite and lift the fans immeasurably.

| Who do we get to come in.
We need to go all out to get the dream team back.
Andy gatcliffe, Tony Smith and Willie poaching.
Give me another period in the last 20 years where warrington have been as competitive and consistent with these 3 in charge. And coaching the team.
The team we have now is equal if not higher rated in proportion to the Smith teams. And yet. The performances we see now are no where near on par compared to any team performance we have had in the last 20 years. We should consistently be challenging with the players we have. But yet we are seeing mediocre performances that are worse than anything Steve price produced as coach. Dispite how much we complained about his performances as a coach. Imagine what Tony Smith can do with these players.

No offence. I think this legend is more suited to the nrl way of playing than the superleague way of playing when coaching.
I've always been in the minority. And whether I'm right or wrong. His attacking play was diabolical when he came aboard to the coaching set up.
Remember he was given the job when Willie poaching left with a certain assistant coach who has since vanished. The performance of the team in my view declined significantly from the point he was actually playing. And then under Steve price. Did not do anything to significantly improve the performance of the team. It turned into 5 drives and a bomb.
I genuinely think his coaching philosophy is more suited to the nrl than the superleague.

| If it’s true that DP let the players ‘chill’ all week before the most important game of the season so far, he should be given his marching orders first thing in morning.
That first half performance, looked extremely chilled, not one of them looked d or interested. It was like they’d all been out on the lash the night before.
Unbelievable!
Has DP never heard about Wigan week?

I'm also getting a bit concerned with the performances of Paul Vaughan who doesn't seem the same. Big game next week.'"

The team we have now is way, way behind the 2011/2012 team in my view.
Indeed in the last 11 years since that side we have won 1 (one) challenge cup.

| My biggest hate with Wire, is how from minute 1, the backs take on the driving the ball out from our own line.
What is the point of having forwards!?

If you were able to read Mo, then you'll see I haven't defended him today - it was poor, no excuses.
I am impressed however that you've managed to spell tool correctly.
Btw, you've still not removed your passport photo from your forum ID.

We're 2nd in the table. What does it say about the coaches of teams lower than us if we sack Powell.
We could get Milward, Hanley or Mcrae in

Because they are getting ready to ruin the 4th play option ?
If the backs are making meters then it's all good but when they are getting smashed and driven back the forwards must put their hands up and do something about it.

| Players aren't performing simple as, they aren't being coached to drop balls, and have no passion, that's down to the players. It's the same coach we had at the start of the season when we we're winning.
Unfortunately we don't have the quality of back up players to drop most of the first team so we're stuck between a rock and a hard place. I do agree since Mikaele left our forward pack hasn't been anywhere near as good, we haven't over ran a team for awhile now.

| somebody mentioned the 80-nil v Saints...and this being as bad. Totally agree.
I'll not watch another live match until Powell is gone....along with Fitzpatrick and the dead wood players that are currently stealing a living.
I'm done. I'm not wasting any more of my time or money with this bunch of amateurs. All the best. OE

| I understand where you're coming from OE.
I was at that 80--0 match too and it was awful beyond words.
After that match I just felt 'nothing'. Totally numb.
For me this isn't as bad. At least I had anger yesterday.
However, I didn't blame DP yesterday and I don't blame him now.
The majority of this is down to not doing the basics correctly and respecting the ball - on top of which the so-called senior players didn't step up to remind the rest of the game plan (which we never got to see started).
I've decided not to go on Friday as a 4 or 5 hour round trip and a s4it performance would be too much to take.

I feel similar, changing culture is not a fast fix and will take time.

| We were never going to win that game, the coach and his team cannot create enough enthusiasm within the players and as such we are looking flat when playing. DP has yet to show that he can affect a game that is getting away from us. It makes no sense that we looked unstoppable for 8 games and then we look like we won't win again. This has to be down to a lack of belief in the tactics and/or each other. There were parts of the game yesterday where players taking the ball in were looking for support and the supporting players were running away from the ball.
Overall I am beginning to believe that DP cannot take us any further forward.

I agree with you. To me it's a combination of
- Lack of applying basic skills under pressure - mental preparedness. We are weak and fragile and have been for as long as I know. We are prone to panic when behind and switch off when ahead.
- Lack of true desire and will to win. Wigan had this in spades yesterday.
- Lack of adequate technical ability in certain areas (positional kicking, ineffective half).
- Lack of on-field leadership to change things when needed.
- Lack of discipline.
I think everyone in the performance team needs to take responsibility for that performance. It's been coming for 2 months. Everyone could see it.

| No I'll stick with the game management... Part of what people are talking about is supposedly expected core skills and lack of onfield leadership but I'm presuming most people can actually see that the game plan appears to be just down to driving the ball down the middle with the flanks completely wasted ...I don't actually see anything but route one stuff and teams are getting wise even if our coaching team isn't
