| None of those guys in that team tonight had played together in those positions, some hadn't played for weeks or even months. You can't expect them to beat a committed team who see our scalp as the topping on a poor season.
That tonking will serve us well next week, the guys won't be complacent that's for sure.

This is pretty much what I thought. We had enough talent out tonight to win, on paper. However, the players that took to the field tonight had not only been missing game time, but had been missing game time [i together[/i. We didn't playas a unit like we have the past two weeks and we went down against a squad that looked very comfortable together and have been clicking well under new leadership this last few weeks. I think that was summed up in the Riley-Myler issue by our line (incidentally, two players who have been playing together, haha).

| Spending all that money I can see why you would be annoyed (I myself was going to go untill i realised i need to save pennies for Wembley) however abusing the players a week before the final i feel i wrong.
The players may not take much notice as they are used to being heckled however by their own fans may lay at the back of their minds.
I just hope that:
A) They forget about it and get pumped for next week.
B) They take the minor abuse and use it to prove the fans wrong.
The last thing we need is players going into the final with bad memories of the fans/worries from this week. especially as I expect a handful of these players to be in the CC final squad

It's a daft trophy that should be scrapped now, no one wants it, the players are embarrassed to receive it, knowing they look daft receiving a trophy when the title is still to be decided.
It might sound daft, but tonights result shows Warrington are focused on winning trophies. Your approach to the season and the way you are playing is classic Saints. | Im a HKR fan but got to admit that i love the way warrington play (good luck next week cos beside,s the scum across the river leeds is the next team i hate) but how on earth does richie myler get a game??? Cannot command the game and knows nothing about taking the line on. Ive not once seen him (ok i only see him on the telly) have a good game. For the money he is on you could get a lot better scrum half even from the lower league were in my opinion is were myler should be. Good luck at wembley.

I was at the game last night and spoke to a few of the lads after the game and I can tell you they were gutted.
The loss was a combination of two things. Our poor mindset and their positive nothing to lose mindset.
By the way London have been a team full of good players playing badly all season, Tony Rea has changed that around, so good for them.

16 try assists say's different and that's with missing a good chunk of games this year, and if you did watch the T.v games you would of seen that he was one of the stand out performers against both Wigan and Saints

The solution is simple. Scrap the weekly rounds, have a little knock-out competition in September and early October (8 teams drawn from a hat) with a grand finale gala night at the Salford City Stadium and bob's your uncle. This would leave 7 months to prepare the international team.,,,,,,,,,and there's always the Challenge Cup. Sorted.

| I feel like last week was all for nothing you lot come out and smashed us all over the show yet go down London with a weak team and get spanked
So the question is what was the point in putting everything into our game if Smith knew there was a shot of losing the week after?
I know some will say just to beat you but i'd sooner be on the losing end coming into the play offs if we meet in the final i think our players will have an extra reason to go all out

That's the point though, you don't debate at all. You just troll and make comments about us signing players over the age of 30. You (and specifically you) bring nothing to this board. I don't know how old you are but you behave like a child on here.
As for last nights debacle, last nights game was about 3 things (in order)
1- Freshness for Wembley
2 - Freshness for play offs
3 - Avoiding loathsome club call
No issue with that in principle but Smith can't be pleased with getting battered that close to Wembley, regardless of the personnel.

| I am not a Warrington Supporter, and it is fair to say I have never wanted them to beat my club. Having said that, I have always thought that Warrington want to compete. They didn't even try last night.
I feel so sorry for the fans who spent quite a lot of money to go down to London to watch the fiasco that was on show.
I know that Tony Rea has improved the performance of London, but I don't think that he has improved them that much so that they could trounce Warrington.
Just one request. Can we have the same team when you come to Widnes on the 9th September?

| Why we lost (IMO)
1. Players were not committed
2. We can make 3-4 changes to team but not 7;
You lose team cohesion and by definition play people that are out of form (cooper and Bridge) and not match fit ( Solo ).
Does it matter ?
Because of the playoff system and Wembly next week, everyone was steeled for team changes and a possible loss. But to concede 60 points ?
All our teams, whether U15 or 1st team must be fully prepared and committed for every match they play. This was a failure of the coach and the team itself. It was unprofessional and unacceptable for the fans that spent the time and money going to the match.

Nonsense. The fundamental reason that Wire lost by a big score last night is that London were outstanding - especially in the second half. The Wire team that took the field would have been good enough to beat the pre-Rea London. Last night's London was what some of us were expecting from the start this year, given the calibre of players in the squad. Warrington were not good last night, but credit to London where due.

| Quote ="Live Wired"Just a few obvious notes on tonights game, and the season in general.
1/ You can count on 1 hand the number of impressive games we have played this season.
2/ We are nowhere near as an impressive team as we were last season. ( please don't quote stats like, by this time last season........
3/ A lot of the players on the pitch tonight we're just not interested..
4/ When Briers ( and it's taken 8 pages to name him) is not on the pitch, we are utterly clueless.
5/ This season has been by far the worse I can remember ( quality-wise) in SL. The sooner P+R is brought back, the franchise system is ridden, and winning SL is far more important than a separate comp finalising at Old Trafford, the better. What other sporting organisation rewards a team to be higher than the 1 that wins it's weekly rounds?
6/ Get Bridge fully-fit and put him 2nd row.
7/ Myler...just go away, only Offiah is laughing
8/ London played very well. Ok, they got a few decisions, but David Howells was certainly impressive, they were fast, hungry, clever at the ptb and Luke Dorn was 6/4 to score anytime
9/ Anyone who thinks that, that performance will be turned-around next week, is deluded.
10/ Michael Monaghan, by his own words, will never be 100% fit again, why did'nt we have a secondary hooker on the bench?'"
A few good points in what otherwise is an unjustified rant. London were very good last night ( which at least you have the grace to accept ), that's the main reason for the defeat. If the first half Wire were like we were at the start of the season, trying to score off every pass, dropping the ball as a result. London defended well then and attacked very well in second half.
As for P&R, I suppose London would have played much better last night had they been threatened with relegation?

See your second paragraph. London last night were outstanding, and played to the standard that could be expected from the quality of players in their squad. Rea has transformed them. I was in London and not happy but give credit to a great Broncos performance.

Because they've laid a marker down should we meet them again this year. Our players looks shocked and intimidated last week and the fact that a weakened Wire got hammered at London won't make a bit of difference should we play Wire in the play offs.
I've said all season I couldn't give a monkeys if we finish 1st or 4th because you get the same benefits pretty much and come those play off matches your league position won't matter.
The scars of previous matches might though.

| Received wisdom is that the best way not to get injured is to go in hard but I've never been totally convinced by this. It must have been in the minds of the players out there who hope to get chosen for next week that the worst thing that could happen is that they put themselves out due to damage done against London. You are not likely to get hurt in a tackle that you don't make or by not charging headlong into their biggest forwards.
Combining that with players who are out of position or don't play together too often and I suppose it's not the best recipe for success.
I hope there won't be a confidence issue as a result but there shouldn't be. I still think we're favourites for the final but it could be close and I look forward to a good game. I hope LRB is fit and plays against us.

As I have previously stated, Saints and Wigan were purely a case of getting second secured. Putting a marker down didn't really register until it was put to me yesterday. The intimidation slant was compounded further by Wane's preceding comments.
All that said, we did get mullered by London, so all that effort was in vain as we now can't win the LLS. Bearing in mind we have no control of Wigan's destiny.
PS
I think your thoughts may be a little too lateral for king warrior.
