For a team that will finish 2nd place in the table after 27 rounds and CC finalists, to leak in 62 points from what was still a useful side is embarassing.

I'll raise a question for you. Are this St Helen's team a great side? Been tonked by Wigan every game this season, lost to Warrington only a week or so ago by a country mile. Never saw many saints fans posting on here then. Troll off!

Did you regard Saints as a great side a few years back when they got 56 put on them by Warrington the week before the Cup final, and then 74 put on them by Leeds the week after....?

The present St Helens team is just average and rubbish at times. My question was, are Wire and Wigan for that matter are they great sides by standard.
When St Helens were labelled a great side they could beat Warrington and Wigan respectively 80-0 and 75-0 respecively.
Yet Warrington and Wigan can,t get remotely get any where near these winning margins this season against a very poor St Helens side.

When resting players, getting a hammering is always a possibility. There's no cohesion from the previous week. London got at us from the go and deservedly put us to the sword. I'm not worried.

Last year the LLS was the target to prove our club, this squad, can obtain consistency of the highest level beyond any other team in the league. This year it's setting up to charge for the 2 major trophies and the odd defeat on the way will happen. Again, I'm not worried.

It was a long way to go last night and there's no doubt I'm disappointed. But in the grand scheme of things, it's a small price to pay IF we manage to lift both pieces of major silverware.

Dummy half Dwyer to Myler, on to O'Brien who passes behind dummy runner Currie to feed Ratchford chiming into the line from full-back, who tips it on to Evans in the centre to put Riley in at the corner un-opposed with Gelling clutching at thin air caught out of position as usual.

Evans, Ratchford and Riley were all out of position last night.

Myler only ever looks the point alongside the master, Lee Briers.

I can't remember Warrington finishing 3rd/4th when Saint Helens were a 'Great Side' - we were lucky if we were average during those days and average teams don't finish 3rd/4th. They finish mid-table.

Very harsh that mate.

Let's see how three of those four get on next week.

I'm not sure Wigan were a great benchmark when Saints beat them 75-0 either....probably the worst Wigan team in memory.

On reflextion, when

we win next week all this will be forgotten. People will be of the opinion we lost the LLS back against Salford and therefore "that game we lost the week before the cup final because we rested so many" will be irrelevant.
