Leigh have a great stadium and the town is rugby mad, it is about time Leigh were back in Super League.
Its only then that you will be able to attract the better players that the town and investment in the stadium deserve.

I'll second that.

Not too sure who my MOM was, a few players stood out for me. Solomona's passing was great as usual, and his runs made the whole stand lift. Myler played well even though he took a few strong hits. King & J. Monaghan played well, taking their tries well. McCarthy stong in defence and Craig Harvey is a great prospect for the future.

After a slow start we picked up and played quite well even though there were a lot of errors. Full credit to Leigh's goal line defence who kept us out well at the start of the game, nothing they could do about Solomona's try though.

my first visit to the LSV today and was wholly impressed, at the sheer size of the village, and then the friendliness of staff etc inside and outside. burger was turd though!(not literally ofcourse)

Wasn't it just? Threw half of mine away and the power went off in the bars at half time, whilst I was wiring for hot chocalate, apart from that though, I agree with what's been said, good stadium and be nice to have them back in SL.

im a big lad though 74' and i was very hungry, just wasnt a good burger, still got eaten though! haha!

Hodgson for me too, did very well to get out from behind his line with 3 players around him, plus 8/8 kicks most from touchline, AND had a role coming in from FB for a number of outlr tries!

Other than that M Monas had a v good first half before being subbed. Would've like to see Joel back himself but still a solid display and more to come no doubt

I thought Brett Hodgson was seemless in the game. Lovely to watch a top class full back like that. Anderson also got through a lot of work. Solomana should have some sort of handicap because it's unfair to have a player so big and bloody strong who can play aswell. Has Ben Harrison been injured bcause he didn't look too happy and was not his usuall hard hitting self?

Thought everyone played ok but Hodgson played really well. His escape from the in goal with three Leigh tacklers and no room to work with was superb. Not biggest or quickest FB in SL but his instinctive play and reading of the game from the back is excellent. Nice to have a quality goalkicker now and he could prove the difference in tight games.

Thanks for that mate, i and a lot of other Leythers have a lot of respect for Wire, i think our clubs have a good relationship with the dual reg players and all that, hope you win the lot this year.

On another note you always bring a really good following to Leigh when we play each other, i think in our SL year you brought the most to Hilton Park, and always make loads of noise, anyway all the best for the season.

Have to agree with this. I thought it was a tight game, with neither side looking at their sharpest, but the scoreline was quite puzzling.

They played the game very narrow. 4 players in every tackle. The problem with doing that against us is we have the players who can move the ball wide quick enough to go around that tactic. How many kicks to the winger were there? 4 from my patchy memory. Minimum of 3 long cut out passes to the winger on the fly. They were very good at the game they played, we are too classy to be out done by it. They will do very well in their league against opposition who aren't as capable as moving the ball around as quick as us.

The first half of last season no one could touch us.
In the second half of the season injuries set in and the DC's got called back more and it took it toll on us.All the other teams started to embarress us out wide with quick play and the season fell apart.We have a better squad this year so Hopefully we're better prepared.

Its a physically challenging tactic I would have thought. I would say its reliant on quick line speed and enthusiasm. As those things get more difficult to maintain its easier for the other the team to go around you.

I think we're much faster all over the park this season and we have better attacking options as well,so hopefully we wont get caught out so much.I'm also led to believe the body shape has changed on a few of the player who were kept on from last season which means they've worked really hard in the off season.We're not the favourites by a long way,i think that should be fax, fev and barra,but you never know.
