Some of Briers' wage is off the cap due to testimonial service, Rauhihi's on peanuts, King and Monas arent on as much as some would have you believe either, neither are the Andersons, dont forget we held Vinnie out a long time.

He will be compared to his initial contract when he joined the club. If he's not then it's poor management as he was then supposedly one of the NRLs best props, as of signing for another year last year, he was an average clubman

At the risk of repeating myself, but surely there aren't too many players you'd expect to be earning over £50k per annum. If you were to just estimate a squad of 20 players on a mean of 50k, that's only £1m.

Note that I said a mean of £50k, mean - if you remember from school - being the average when all is summed up and dived by 20, it leaves room for some young bucks/sqaud players to be on circa £20k and other 'big earners' to be on £70k +

Also, what is this pish posh about being Salford's highest ever paid player? How much does that equate to? I doubt they'll have had six figure sums out for too many players.

But seriously though. Briers wage is reduced in the cap, Carney, Rah and Johnson may well be leaving us, and Monas, King & Hicks took a wage reduction with the whole image rights thing, although im not sure if that will affect their wages on the cap anyway as it was a "loophole"

Does the testimonial 50% wage reduction on the cap cover all the players? Or just one?

If it is more than one player then you have to remember that Woody is entering his testimonial year.

Before we got to Wembley every rugby leaague journo around was reporting Myler to Wire for a 200k transfer fee, and even that was probably exagerated.

The salary cap is something that only the little clubs must abide by, didnt you know? The bigger clubs have the aid of financial wizzards to allow them to exploit the many loop-holes in the system, to allow them to offer players top $ to sign, (thats if their owners can actually afford to offer top wages). Its a little known fact that Myler will be coming in, earning in the region of 300k per season, much of that will be payment in kind though. He will be clearing 50k in cash per season, the rest will be paid in midget gems and liquorice allsorts, with a bonus of a packet of swizzles every time he scores a try. (An offer was also made for Fecka as we are in need of a one minute wonder impact prop, but unfortunately Simon Moran simply couldnt afford the amount of pies needed to make his wages up, shame really.
