I don't think Ian Lenegan or the fans thought Madge would be here for very long. IL knew he was an ambitious guy and a great coach who wanted a big NRL club. It was a trade-off. The plan was that he gets to coach the biggest club in England and make a name for himself, but to do that he has to deliver success and quickly. It's that success that means he can move to the next stage in his career. He's done a great job for us and I don't think any Wigan fans have any complaints.

The 80,000 was a reference to the estimated number of people who joined the Souths protest march. Not all of them would have been Souths fans, some might not have even been RL fans. But that is how important the club is to many people in Sydney.

Just because you manage a big club, doesn't instantly make you a big name

Adam Ant was the biggest music star in the world for a while when I was a lad, I don't think many people under 30 will have heard of him.

Met him once (Shaun not Adam), had a good chat with him over a couple of beers. Seemed like a nice bloke. I suspect he does like the odd pie or two. Nothing wrong with that.

But remember our very own Tony Smith - when he was in charge of Huddersfield, the dirtiest team in the league in 2003. They used spoiler sthouse tactics and it got results with the limited team they had. Of course when Smith was at Leeds and Warrington with the players at his disposal he could use more attractive tactics. Maguire is doing the best with the personnel he has at his disposal - if he was in charge of a club like Leeds or Warrington whose to say he wouldn't play more adventurous rugby?

Well,

1. They've both not won anything for decades
2, Their clubs both lead 'gypsy' lives, without having a home to call their own, in the last few years
3. Their respective coaches will have received 'a dicking' from Warrington, in the last few months
4. They both still think themselves as 'famous'

Sometimes i go on the wigan forum to browse a few posts that might be of interest and everytime i see him post he is talking about warrington.

). Boxing and MMA are probably more widely particiapated than RL in Mcr.

But i'm sure there are a huge proportion of RL fans of all clubs who have a big interest in RL from all over the globe. I watch a lot of the NRL. It's a fantastic level of competition. It makes our game over here seem like Championship 1 to Super League. Yes, Souths are a hugely historical club and have won many titles but they won the majority of them were in joke times of competiton. They still won them of course, Balmain didn't win as many as Souths but Wests are still considered a big club so Souths are obviously too. Wire didn't have that green/red away kit last season by coincidence!
