Just listened to press conference and Jimmy said maybe he isn't read for head coach role so good on him for fronting up with that. The dissapointment is there for all to see on his face and in what he says. Glad he's not taking it all lying down or in his stride and is hurt by the decision which will as Gatcliffe said make him come back stronger.

Good luck to both of them and lets hope they can get the club where they should be.

Why thank the board. If they had grown som B******S sooner Smith would have been appointed before the season started, this is just a reaction to the posts on here, the board must spend a lot of time on here reading what the fans have to say and then decide to act on it.

At the end of the day wasnt it obvious what would happen employing James Lowes with very little coaching expertise. You would have been better keeping hold of Cullen a least he was Wire through and through. James Lowes had a small amount of experience on the backroom at Salford then came in under the radar at HJ.

So the "board" actually approached Smith before Lowes eg whilst Cullen was in-situ and he "had" to say no ie it wasn't his choice ie he wanted to come then ie the "board" has known for the best part of a year that Smith was coming.

Can I just say well done to the club for doing the right thing and not letting this whole mess fester. Lowes virtually talked his way out of the job last week with some of his press conference ramblings; the only surprise is that it didn't happen on Monday morning.


This is hardly a panacea though, big question is now; how will the players respond?

I'll reserve my judgement on Smith's appointment until after the Celtic game, the same time frame I would have given Lowes after last Friday.

I agree. I sent an email to the club to congratulate them on an excellent appointment. We often criticise the club (more often than not quite justly) but this time the board deserve a slap on the back and due praise.

this was on the cards way back , just the england job got in the way , he was always comeing after his england days , y you think bastian is good mate from leeds is at the club now , building from the bottom up , good luck to em !
