I rate Kirmond highly and the last converted centre we signed from Wakefield didn't work out too badly.

I'm amazed that somebody who is nigh on 28 years old is considered young. Rogues will be having a fit.


I do think Kirmond has been hyped by Sky a fair bit - for example Ali Lauititi has actually made more yards than him this season and I've never had Ali down as one for doing long minutes to rack up the stats (or doing any length of the field breaks).

In summary then we are nine pages in and not a shred of truth in Kirmond signing. This should be locked pending Nosey Parker coming up with any information to corroborate Yed's opening post.

I read it on the Wakey board, the reason for question mark on the end of the topic name was because I was putting it out there if anyone had heard or not.

Hey Yed I'm not having a dig my good friend. I'm like you just waiting for an announcement of a signing. Although if it is Kirmond it will probably be announced in line with the release of the Warrington Guardian on a Thursday. As for BJB if the rumours are to come to fruition I couldn't see that being announced till the end of the playoffs due to both teams involvement.
Then again we might not get anymore signings.

Danny Kirmond will NEVER be as good a player as waterhouse is right now. This always seems to happen. When somebody has a half decent season in an average wakefield side they are suddenly talked about(mainly by the idiots on sky)as a man of steel contender. I remember it being jason demetriou a few years ago ffs!

You may well be absolutely right. The game where Sky started raving about him was Salford, which doesn't really say too much. No doubt we'll find out either tomorrow night or Thursday morning. Maybe Salford have gazumped us.

Danny Kirmond has played with injury and painkiller injections for past 8 games and has still played well.

If you are to sign him you will see just how much of a machine he is both in defending and in attack. The step the guy has and speed off the mark should not belong to a 17 stone guy.

Kirmond has been billed as untouchable in the fire sale and rightly so. One of only a few players who could easily slot into any starting line up in SL.

The other Amor who I'm gutted to see go to saints. Amor and Kirmond are the only two who from wakefield who must be so close to international honours.

I just really hope Kirmond stays, that would be a big nail in wakefields coffin to let him go. I'd swap many players in SL for the majority of the Wakey squad but Kirmond.. I wouldn't take one player in SL over him. Genuinely mean that.

I think this is a no topic anyway but any slim chance he does go. Then the team who signs him will massively benefit.

Wire have under snith always been willing to help out other clubs, ie, player loans to widnes, cas, st Helens, Swinton! We should buy him now to help ease wakeys financial problem. Loan him back to wakey for 12 month to help them avoid relegation as part of the deal.

If we were to sign him on a 3 year deal then loan him back for the first year he wouldn't be too far off 29 whern we first see him in P and B. No point in paying a large sum for a mature player, then not playing him.

Then I think smith needs to give his head a shake. Wakefield only last week stated in the media that Kirmond was untouchable, the chairman has said he wants to build a team around him.

Half the teams in the league have signed Kirmond these past few weeks. Unless he is referring to kirmonds agent? In which case is his job is it not.

I won't be too stinging as wire have been good in the past in loaning a player when things got rough but its not like we need a gun aiming at Wakey for raising prices when we need to make up a 400k shortfall now. Wire are in the position not to have to put players in the shop window who are the engine room of the team. We unfortunately aren't in that position.
