| Quote ="rubber duckie"He can't get a game a Newcastle. I wouldn't be surprised he was released but it is a step backwards.
What is blinding you.
We got England Riley and Asotasi who are not the real deal and we need someone who is.
You think a 12 stone back will make up that void?
Can't see the woods for the trees can you.'"
He's a clever player who can control a game and lead a team around the park, at present you don't have anyone who can do that. You've embarrassed yourself on this one duck man.

| I think Dobson is better than anything we have thus far. Most importantly he will add a kicking game (but not to replace Bridge on conversion duties; I never rated Dobson for that) and marshalling the team/playing the officials.
I would be pleased with signing Dobbo, but how pleased will depend on contract length as I think Wire should be aiming higher in the long run.
With all that said: I don't know if I can disagree with RD - I'm in two minds over what is more important here and I can't help but think that we at least have the HB situation partially patched over with Bridge, while the forwards issue remains a (sometimes literal) gaping hole.

| No pal. I've not made myself transparently clear.
I know exactly how good Dobson is. He has a great kicking game. He would address some issues.
BUT
The problem at Warrington is how poor the depth of the pack is.
Bring Dobson in and the pack is still poor in depth.
The whole point of having Bridge and Ratchford is their presence to neutralise that lacking issue.

| Alas, we will not be getting him because I can remember someone on here saying we don't have the salary cap to spare. How much will it cost to have an emergency wheel change half way through the race £150k ?

Oh, I know you rate him and see his value. My post was general, not in direct response to anything you said. I am inclined to agree with you on what you say about the importance of the forwards.
...Just realised that you're probably responding to Vikingman...

| This was cut listed a few weeks ago by a KR fan on one of these boards. Don't know what to believe if I'm honest. Don't get me wrong he can be magic on his day as and he's something we've not got at the moment. My only thoughts regarding this not happening is why 2-3 weeks? What's the issue?

I'm so excited by this news that i had to join up after being a forum reader
I really do hope that this is true as IMO Dobbo could transform our season and give us the organising skills we've lost since Lee retired last season

| Be a good signing IMO, a calming influence on our young lads, a leader, good kicking game, which we're crying out for!!
Forwards too lightweight but were down to bare bones.
Get benny, grix and woody fit we should be ok come the business end.

If this quote is regarding the lack of props, then I believe you HAVE made yourself transparently clear, because you mention about us needing a prop in practically every post you make, regardless of what topic you post on.
And FWIW, I'm with the "Dobson In" crew. Would bring stability in the halves, and he has a great kicking game.

| Similar to the London and Soward situation, would have preferred Soward though.
The way we at the moment I'd prefer any SL combination except Londons

| I'm a fan of Dobbo.
Better than GOB and Myler.
But why put more bricks on a wall when it's built on sand?
The quality and quantity of bricks won't stop that wall from sinking.
The footing is weak. It's a cement foundation that needs attention.
Yes wire111 I'll say it pal because it's right.

Can we not need both a prop and a halfback? I've watched us a few times this year and we've had plenty of position without any threat. A prop doesn't create the majority of your plays. I get that we're a bit lightweight, but our backs just haven't performed this year, a halfback can make that happen more than a prop can. And I get that props lay foundations, but quality halfbacks are going to be a bigger rarity in SL than props, so you prioritise that.

| But we have at least 4 halfbacks now, plus Monaghan and Grix....that gives us 6! And then Dobson!
We've got halfbacks coming out of our ears.
The reason Bridge and Ratchford did the business is because they are big guys and balanced out the real issue.
Yes Wire111 pal....props
We have only Hill who is playing at a class level.
We got Asotasi who isn't playing at class level.
We got England who isn't class and more like made of glass and totally not fit enough for this level. He blows after 10 mins.
We got Wood who is class but also glass.
D.Bridge is is good and has improvement.
Riley needs a spell at Bradford like Bridge did.
The others are 2nd rowers.
Isn't it obvious now where we lack.
We could get Thurston and Cronk and we'd still have a pee poor front row in terms of depth.
Hello echo echo echo!

| The poll isn't right.
It ought to be buy a halve v buy a prop.
I'd have Dobson in a heart beat.
It's like which is more important here.
We buy Dobson and put Bridge in the centre
We buy say Matt Scott and move out Riley or Asotasi.
I cannot believe I am the only person on here who believes a halfback now is more important than a quality prop.
