Not just King, it could be end of a few players career at Warrington. Generally heard rumours on the grapevine surrounding the future of Carvell, Clarke and Landerson. Will be interesting to see what happens in the next couple of months or so, and see who we manage to keep hold of and who we lose to other clubs due to the constraints of the salary cap.

I can definitely see Clarke off. With Higham having signed an extension and having Monaghan, we dont need a third hooker. Clarke will be at Widnes.

Not sure about Carvell, be surprised if he left. Louis could go back and play in the NRL easily i would think although i hope we can get him to stay!

I don't think it is the end of Matt's career with us, we are okay overseas quota wise. The stumbling block could be the size of the salary that Matt wants this time around. I am guessing that Joels new contract will be a good one for him.

How great would it be to hear in the next few days that Matt has extended his contract past the end of this season.

I think Matt is going to go no matter what happens, his choice.

The one i'm most chuffed with is Woody, top pro.

Matt King has the option of a further year on his contract, which was part of the original deal. If he chooses not to take it up then we have a space on the quota.

Great news for the club. Three great extensions and the players deserve it after their current from. I'm estatic with Joel's extension the most, we had to find the 'correct' signing in replacing Hicks, and we've done that. He's a world class winger - I love watching him play.

I'd love to see King, Louis and Carvell follow him and sign an extension, mind.

On the ball about Clarke. Being realistic about it he has the possibility of linking up with Cullen although Cull works in the background at Widnes and Clarke will probably be guaranteed first team selection each week. Thats if Widnes get their application for Super League licencing accepted.

Clarke going is a cert for me, i reckon his salary will be shared out among the rising stars we have.

Do we think Big Dave should get a final 1 year extension? I do.

Agreed. Woody deserves the 2 years, I hope he continues his good form and be injury free. He doesn't half cause havoc with his offloading game when he is on the money. St Helens away this year, he was immense.

Long after he retires he'll always be thought off well in Warrington, a good honest pro who plays his role in the team without fuss and does it well.

Amazing that this all-knowing grapevine never had any rumours about contract extensions for J. Monaghan, Wood or R. Evans yet knows all about the future of the players you list.

Not A Warrington fan but pleasantly surprised and pleased to see Joel signing a 3 year deal with you, shows he isnt over here just to get away from Australia for a year whilst things settle down and fair play to him

To be fair that was the view of a considerable proportion of Warrington supporters, who were saying Chris Hicks had been treated disgracefully to make way for a guy who was only here for a one year stay till he could resurrect his NRL career.

Good bit of news.If King decides to leave and Blythe keeps up his rich vein of form.Then we need not worry about finding Kings replacement.

I can`t see any way that we could keep Matt King as well as Joel Monaghan, the stumbling block at the min is the weak £, its going to make it very difficult for UK clubs to sign top Australian or Kiwi players due to how much the £ has fell against a lot of other currencies, it will also make it difficult to keep current Australians that are already here who are coming to the end of their contracts as they could earn a lot more in the NRL.

With the emergence of Matty Blythe and Rhys Evans we`ll have plenty of strength in the backline for next season so an import on big money wouldn`t be a priority, we could use the quota spot and money a lot better given the backs we already have. Matt King has been superb for us once he hit his stride but most players move on eventually in RL as thats the nature of most sports.
