| Quote ="Lord Tony Smith"Thewlis will be a top player I have no doubt about that. These performances from him are to be expected though. He’s only just turned 19, he’s in and out of the team all the time and he’s being instructed by a poor coach. He more than flakey Blake did tonight such as making the break for Charnley’s try and then setting him up.'"
Nah not having that. Thewlis had a pretty awful game. Made one break well done, every orher contribution was either getting caught with the ball during a move or general handling errors, getting out jumped by fcking Lui etc. He's young and will have bad games but no way did he do more than Blake tonight to get our team down the field or in a position to do something. The hard on here to sh*t all over Austin this year is laughable. Just silly pitting players against one another. Austin put in a perfect kick for Charnleys second, made multiple breaks, and managed to catch a ball behind his head in full flight during a break that should have ended in Linehams try awarded. But we'll blank that because Austins Austin.

| This sort of game is a classic exhibition of the weakness of our much vaunted 'England internationals' or otherwise fan favourites.
When we have this sort of performance where it's clear we haven't turned up, who steps up to turn it round?
Too many players fit the same category - good when the team is playing well but all go anonymous together when the team isn't playing well.
There won't be much talk about how great Ratchford, Mamo, Philbin and co are this week but wait till we're on our next good run and there will be more odes of praise heaped on them from our fans.
Once again Richard Agar does us over....it would have caused anarchy on here if we'd appointed him as successor to Tony Smith but I wonder if we would have had a higher or lower win percentage with Agar rather than Price

He did have a bad game yeah you’re right, he’s also 19 and still learning and in and out the team hence why I feel there needs to be a bit of context. What’s Austin’s excuse? He was dire. Some of the passes he attempted were criminal and straight to Leeds players. The kick to Charnley? Chris Hill could have executed that kick it was literally the easiest kick he’ll have all season in open play.
Let’s all throw the 19 year old kid under a bus and then wonder why we get moaned at for never giving youth a chance yet the 200k a year fraud and the club captain get off Scot-free. Baffling.

| We got nowt, we deserved nowt.
It would have been rough justice if we'd sneaked a draw at the end.
Leeds were better in virtually every area.
We were out-enthused from tackle 1.
Many players had bad matches - the positive being that there's only 1 way to go.
Thewlis was bound to have one at some point. I'm not too concerned by that to be honest. But there were a lot more than him.
Having said that, how many chances did we bomb?
A bad day all round at the office.
Felt sorry for Coops who I thought put another decent shift in - and to a lesser extent Hill.
When they are not on we can't maintain their level.
And if Hill is off next year......
Just taking a dispassionate view.
Will now move on !

He threw one pass into touch. Otherwise I fail to see what else Austin did to our detriment tonight. If Austin was dire then I dread to think what descriptions we're giving to Ratchford who was ten times worse. Who's throwing anyone under the bus? I'm being realistic here. Has 3 dependable games and here comes the messiah by all on here. Has a stinker and there's excuses in spades. If he's old enough and good enough to be first team then he'll be judged as such tbh. Hughes is abysmal and nobody is making any excuses for him.

| To play that badly, albeit against a patched up Leeds side, and get close to winning is some consolation. We were just very lazy (possibly fatigued, unlike Leeds) and yet still broke them enough times to win the game, it just didn't come off. Thewlis kept trying which is another good sign, he's a class act. Our front 3 were good and really trying the rest of them had a night to forget. HKR response will be interesting.

| We've played Wigan and saints and both game we've out paced the opposition being able to play faster for longer was tonight just that one game too far we were a second off the pace and it showed up.
Bit of a reality check for the team and fans, but not to discredit Leeds they played really well tonight and won the forward battle and took their chances.

| Another poor use of rhe bench tonight from price.
We were struggling with leeds big forwards, so let's leave a prop on the bench till 68 minutes and the game was all but gone

He threw two passes to Leeds players in the second half but they both knocked on otherwise they’d have been through for an interception.
Ratchford isn’t a marquee player and isn’t playing in his natural position. He also isn’t relieving the club of over 200k a year. You look at Widdop and he justifies his pay cheque but Austin doesn’t come close. He doesn’t take the line on, he doesn’t pass when he’s supposed to. He has one thing up his sleeve a dummy and everyone in SL knows it now and never seem to fall for it anymore.
He was awful tonight IMO and it shows why Warrington don’t deem him good enough for next season.

What in gods name are you on? All Austin does is take the line on lol. You make no sense. Doesn't take the line on. But also doesn't pass when he's supposed to... so you mean he takes the line on then yeah? And then you go on to explain how he takes the line on. And more often than not he'll bust a tackle at least. No, Austin is no marquee level I don't think, not now anyway. But what is he meant to do? Not take the tag if its offered to him lol? Its not like he doesn't put in the effort each game. We could do so much worse than Austin. Give over.

| Very tired looking tonight, really poor defense at times and just couldn't keep hold of the ball or complete sets.
It was a very random game but i'm not panicking as 1 game doesn't make us a bad team at all. Like a reset switch, bad day at the office and have a sleep and crack on again.
Only issue we have is we keep having these bad games for important games ( not this one obviously) But get widdop back and will be fresh with a few weeks rest, finally sign Williams and we'll be looking good again.
On another note is Mulhern still sick? I assume he's been ill so is not 100% yet which is why he didn't play?
And i don't really get the decisuon to give Butler only 10 mins game time? Fair enough he's falling short of what i expected and still looks in worse shape then i've seen him in a few years, so i assume the year off last year hasn't helped but he's had 6 months at least to get fit now so i find it really odd.

| Not enough energy and too many mistakes, both probably because of fatigue. We need to wipe the slate clean and move on, at least HKR will be 6 days away.

| Leeds got to us big style with some hard running and niggle. They got their noses in front and we started playing panic rugby for the rest of the night. Too many errors, too many players having an off night. We were a little unlucky on a couple of occasions when a try seemed on the cards. Credit to a patched up Leeds...and Agar. Perfect plan.

I’ll say it again. Pathetic.

| Leeds turned up and did their job, the basics. We didn’t. Agar is doing a great job there, especially considering the injuries they’ve had.
The concerns are usually quite clear, in that when Cooper and Hill go off we lose the momentum. But last night, Prior and Olidski already had the upper hand with them on, and the bench had nothing to reverse that. The change, given the lack of momentum, to put Clark on with Walker was strange. We needed some hard work and strong carries, which to Clark’s credit he ran the ball, but he is not a prop.
The Thewlis debate rumbles on. I think he is the future of that position for Warrington, so I’m happy to roll the dice and keep him there a while longer. He made 2 errors from a kick off last time he was dropped, and last night he made a few errors, but no more or less than Hughes/Sita/Austin. If Widdop is fit, he comes back in on the left, Ratchford (who was particularly poor) could make way with a view to rest people who have played a lot of rugby, but I think Austin is the weakest of them.
Mulhearn needs to come back in, as does J Clark. Sita, one bustling run aside, is a waste of a sub.

We must be watching different players. When was the last time Austin took the line on and broke through? Widdop does this every game. You eulogising over a kick that my 8 year old nephew could have picked out just about sums up how far he’s fallen and the standards we’re setting. You say we could do so much worse than Austin we could also do so much better too. I’d sooner have Gareth O’Brien in the halves and use the marquee spot on a top class prop.

| Judging by LTS' opinions on our half back, Austin has either
a) burned him off at the lights
b) run over his dog
c) run off with his missus.
Come on, LTS.
Which is it?

| We'll never win anything until our fans start behaving like those of the champions and not accepting defeat under any circumstances. All stating that Leeds were much better on the night and fully deserving of the win.....there should be 30 pages of bitter bile about Leeds players dropping like flies whilst we were on the attack and Liam Moore cheating us out of the win.

| As expected following a defeat, not much PRC knocking about but plenty of noise from the KJO's and HCB. I'm probably going to side with the HCB, as we would have taken our performances and victories over Wigan and Saints for a blip against a Leeds team that were definitely good value for the win, they never let us get into a rhythm.
However, for balance, even as a HC, we had too many PPP's from new recruits and seasoned pro's alike.
To be fair Thewlis might have earned a rest if Widdop was available, but the lad's head didn't drop he'll come back, Hughes and Ratchford were particularly dreadful I'm rarely impressed with our captain but I don't get the LTS 'love' for Austin tbh. Yes he's on decent money but he's not a Roberts or Asotasi and last night did make an impact which not many can say last night apart from our starting front three and even they were out done by Leeds.
Will HKR away see the return of the PRC or will it be SOW...that will be the mark of this team IMO, how they react (unless we all thought we were going unbeaten all season)
