It's to be expected that smaller clubs up their game when they come to a big club like Warrington. It's just disappointing that our lads can get themselves up for the top sides but not against also rans like them.

Despite all the talk of Jack Black's team suddenly finding form, turning it round, etc. etc. the only two scalps of note they have claimed in their recent unbeaten run was Wigan and us, and in both cases the defeated team discovered more ways to shoot themselves in the foot than a rifle salesman with a twitch.

They are a poor team and tonight, for the first time in a few months, the free gifts largely dried up (despite another knock-on fest), and when left to rely on a gameplan, ability and verve, they came up short.

And frankly, it was hugely amusing.

Saints are as good as they are. No GF for them.
However G Williams is turning into a class act...and he won me money again too. He is the best British half in the game and I include Brown and Brough.

I think Gale is the best British half back, followed by Widdop

Can't give you an argument over Widdop. He is the best British half. I was thinking British as a base of play when I wrote the post. Didn't even think about the broad aspect of it. Thanks for clarifing that.

Saints will be in the Top 4 and we could meet them at the HJ. They could make the GF as Saints beating Warrington at home is not uncommon.

Ripped it up tonight RD. I hope our U19s are escorting the first team on the flight on Saturday.

Both teams did their very best to lose the game tonight. Widnes must have conceded over 20 penalties, but Wigan didn't have the play maker to take advantage and we stay second whatever happens in France. Perfect result.

Wigan's kicking game was diabolical last night.

Plus their fans might have a go at Matty Smith but some of the other players in that squad are worse players than him.

It's not worth going all guns blazing for the shield and we won't be able to overtake Wire so they're more or less guaranteed at least 2nd.

Because it makes no difference if we win. The swing is 2 but the difference is still only 1 point meaning either team MUST get a result to finish top. A draw would do Wire wether they beat Catalan or not, but a point must be attained.

A win would take us 3 points clear of Wigan.

1 point can be all we need to see off Wigan or a win against Hull depending on which way Pie v FC goes.
Yes a lose against Widnes could see us in bother, but my point is remains the same.
The LLS is in our own hands wether we win at Cats or not. It makes little difference.
