Fiji gave the Kiwis a good game, proving that the island nations cannot be taken likely. Cannot wait for this afternoon's clash between Tonga and Samoa, two teams who will want to do their nation proud.

This wheelchair rugby lark is crazily entertaining. They all just get stuck in ,wham ,bam ,thank you Mam.

Well, that's replaced Tonga nz at wilderspool in 1995 as my favourite international rl moment.

You know what, I know there's been some complaints about the tickets and stuff, but, after a crap year with warrington, these world cups has really reminded me why I love rugby league

That was a great game to be at, little fellow enjoyed it too and now wants to go to some wire games (shame they're almost all 8o clock Ko). There was a good crowd, really physical game, really Enjoyed the haka face off at the start as well. I want to know what samoas penalty was for though that gave them the extra 2 points, there was another decision in the build up to their last try that baffled me too. Overall Samoa were worthy winners though, they were the best side on the day.

Great game between two closely matched teams.

Samoa just about had the edge with their creative play rather than the mainly grunt offered by Tonga.

England will need to be at their very best to beat Samoa, and all the easy wins may be a big disadvantage, since we have not had a competitive game.

Samoa have just played a very tough game and will be a lot sterner test than when we beat an under cooked and jet lagged team in our opening game.

Great game, good atmosphere, decent crowd, with the war dance face off setting the tone. It could have gone either way, but a really soft try scored by To'o from a kick that Tonga really should have caught, proved crucial. Luai had a mixed game, some brilliant touches, a well taken try, some awful kicks and he stood aside while an opponent cleared Tonga's line with a run that ended with a score in that set of six.

Hmmm… 8pm Thursday school nights and shopping day Saturday afternoon it is.

Aren't all the home Thursday / Saturday games dictated by broadcasters? Doesn't really have much to do with KF and the sport can't afford not to take the Sky money.


Friday games do seem to be the norm now though, I imagine it's an easier sell for corporate hospitality, I don't mind the Friday games anymore now my lad is old enough to stay up later.

Great game and the sivi tau v sipi tau was something special.
Couple of observations.

There was quite a lot of spectators wearing rugby union attire where I was sitting. England RU hats, Blackppol RUFC and Altrincham RFC hats and jackets. Never really seen that so much at a RL game. You sometimes see the odd one but it was like everywhere I looked there appeared to be a RU fan. Hope they enjoyed what they saw.

The next time the RL world cup is played over here we really need to work hard with the NRL to either have a break in the season so that it can be played in the better weather or start the season really early so that it finishes in Mid September and the world cup can start straight away.
Just feels like it has been bouncing out down for every game. The skill is still fantastic but just feel it would have been even better in better weather.

Paulo Banned for the game against us, which is an added bonus. If we Drop Cooper and Lees and put in Oledzski and Thompson we'll be bang on in the forward battle. Should be a great game. Can't see NZ beating Aus but you never know

Doubt that Wane will make any changes to the 17 he selected on Saturday barring injuries.

Terrific 1st semi final, looking forward to 2.30 pm, with another very physical game on the cards. Just one change for England with Thompson coming in for Lees.

We just handed Samoa possession to attack us in extra time, when we had the ball.

Great comeback from England to secure the draw in normal time when the game looked lost, but we played panic rugby after that.

Samoa are a good team though.

No complaints, the better team won, we conceded some poor tries really, but they managed territory better, made fewer mistakes and took advantage of their chances. We really should have played sneyd today IMO, we needed a tactical kicking game in case we couldn't win the arm wrestle and we didn't have one. Welsby has been alright this world cup but he wasn't the answer in the halves today, just not the correct foil for Williams who had a very good game. Maybe he could have played centre over Watkins?

Whitehead was excellent, Williams was excellent. Most of the others were good but sadly not good enough.
