Not sure if this has been mentioned already but a mix of signings for Toronto signing up for next season. “Jon Wilkin, Gadwin Springer, Bodene Thompson, Joe Mellor and Tom Olbison”

Personally would of liked to keep Thompson for next year. Also puts the rumour of us signing Joe Mellor to bed.

Thompson certainly gave it his all in the 7 games which he played for us but, at the time he came along, we already had all the second rowers that we needed signed for 2019 and he didn't show enough to make us change our minds.

Priorities must remain an organising halfback with a kicking game and a great prop. Should be easy enough as there are loads about and nobody else is in the market for either



As a footnote. Matt Davis, the young back rower that we signed from London back in June, looks to be an interesting prospect for the future. I see that he left the Broncos with their player of the year award.

Would anyone take a punt on Theo Fages? Been used sparingly at Saints since Richardson broke through but there's definitely a player in there. He's definitely a talented player and he's still young. He always stands out for France and I think if he was given a decent run in a team he'd be a good player to have. Certainly would be an improvement on Brown, mind you my three year old cousin would be an improvement on Brown.

Imo Saints are more dangerous when Fages is on the pitch. He might get more game time next season if Lomax goes back to fullback .

I really rate fages, he would be an improvement. I'm not sure about his tactical kicking game but generally he is very dynamic and causes the opposition a lot of problems in their half, that's certainly been one of our problems.

I'd still rather have Drinkwater though.

If he ain't good enough for Saints he ain't good enough for Wire.

To be fair whilst I think he is an improvement, I don't think he is the answer.

I did say I'd rather have Drinkwater in my first post. I don't advocate us buying/ signing fages, just said I rate him and in some ways he would help address a deficiency.

He’d be a better option for cover at fullback than we have already, but we really need a back up winger or two as well.

I can remember seeing Lee being driven into Wilderspool on the day he signed for Warrington, face like thunder. There's no way he wanted out of Saints, he wanted Goulding's spot and was very bitter about not being picked for the Challenge Cup final if I remember rightly. His anger and bitterness was probably one of the main reasons you very rarely beat us when he was with you, he let his hatred betray him, Star Wars style and we all know where that leads.
