I thought we looked at our best today when Julien, Savelio ,Cooper ,Wilde & Philbin were on together.Otherwise too much gifted ball again making life hard in defence.

As for the kick ,maybe a kick to touch would have been a better choice ,but in a s**t or bust situation someone has to make the decision & at least we won't get stuffed at Wembley .

I thought we played well considering the number of players we were missing. I also thought that they were given too much leniency in the ruck by the officials..and of course Tomkins was his usual annoying self. So, as we clearly don't have the side to win at Wembley, we're best out of it such now we can concentrate on far more important things.

Just a point about yesterday's & today's games....Ratchford misses a penalty from half way ,drop out from Wigan under the sticks.Missed penalty in today's game & drop out awarded from 25 line. Did Thaler drop a clanger in yesterday's game ?

Yes. It was brought up on our board. Shouldn't even have been a drop out as our player caught it in field.

Warrington could have and should have won that game. Wigan are a shambles and are punching far above their weight. but currently nothing is going in your favour and it's hard to get out of that rut. Your team gave it everything yet on a different day that could mean beating the likes of castleford.

Funny as I didn't really think we looked capable of winning that until the last few minutes. Wigan looked more hungry, just invited us back into the game with some Warrington style mistakes.

Didn't the player who caught it inadvertently make it dead in the process of doing so? Hence the drop-out BEHIND the sticks. That's what seemed to happen.

No, he caught the ball inside the dead ball line and ran it out. Whoever made the call got it wrong, luckily it didn't affect the result. he was well inside the field of play when he caught the ball.

Was standing outside the field of play when the ball was kicked but jumped to catch it and his feet landed inside the field of play when he caught it . Ref got it wrong

The Radio 5 Live commentary said that the referee took advice (from video ref/touch judge) and judged the Wigan player took the ball over the dead ball line, hence goaline dropout rather than the 20m dropout had the penalty gone dead.

No idea if the video looks that way, but that's how they described it to the listeners.

Attendance 7,304 compared to 13,105 for the same game in 2011. A worrying decline.

If he was stood outside of the field of play and jumped from outside the field of play, ref got it right.

i stand corrected , although his feet were never outside the field of play while he was in possession of the ball.

Isnt the point that his feet were never in the field of play, when he touched the ball ? i.e. if he jumped from outside the field of play and gathered the ball before his feet hit the ground (in field) then he's still deemed to be outside the field of play and touched the ball 'dead' ?

Its the opposite to one of the Burgess tries, where his body was outside the field of play when he touched down, but because he grounded the ball before his body hit the floor he was still in field, hence try correctly awarded.
