| Would be too risky picking wigan(if they win) as they are still a quality team. They are obviously suffering from the CC win but are more dangerous than hudds or leeds.

| I'm not too sure.
Huddersfield have slipped a bit in the latter part of the season.
I don't see much of a threat in Leeds, even in 'top form'.
Catalans can be devastating when they bring their A game.
We have had more difficulty with St. Helens than Wigan this season and after watching Saint's first half performance: I'm not looking forward to facing them.
I have every confidence we can beat any of those teams, but we seem to perform best against Wigan. They will be tired by the time we get to play them and they have been in poor form ever since the CC Final (their defence today was terrible; just slipping off tackles). But, would I rather face the St. Helens I saw in the first half today in the final?
Like I said, I know we can beat all these teams. We will put in 80 minutes whereas other teams seem to be falling short lately. What is the best route to take though? I don't know. I trust Tony Smith.

| If Wigan are shot to bits they'll lose to Catalans and won't be an option. If they beat a team that's just scored 56 points and had an extra day rest they obviously aren't shot to bits at all and should be left well alone.
Picking a team that won convincingly at the HJ in the Cup not so long ago could be suicidal. If we pick them and lose we'd go down in history as complete idiots.
The lowest ranked team are the only option, although I agree about Leeds having a big performance in them.

| The only team I wouldn't pick is the Dragons - extremely dangerous right across the park and seem like they might be about to come good.
Hudds are massively out of form.
I still think Leeds' defence is extremely vulnerable.
And Wigan just look there for the taking. CC final seems to have done it again to the winner.

| I'd be happy with any of them right now.
We've recently beat Wigan & Catalans, nothing there to worry us.
We've handed Leeds their backsides twice, whilst Huddersfield were soundly beaten on Friday, nothing there.
I think we'll obviously pick the lowest ranked team left in the competition, see it'll be Leeds travelling to the H&J.

| I think the ClubCall should be done half an hour before kick-off. Get both teams down on the Friday, full-kit on, light warm-up. March them out onto the field, possibly with the players chained to each other, lights off, then a spotlight on the captain whose team have to play, the other team trots off ready for the Saturday game.
That's a real advantage, that's drama.

I agree entirely.
I'd also like to see Smith choose by doing nothing more than 'Ip dip, dog , you ...' live on SKY.

they should do it on a boots and all special....
<split screen on the TV showing both teams in their full kit in a changing room... beamed live back into the studio on a video link>
eddeh and stevo announce the big decision...... "and the team that has been picked by warrington to play them at the HJ is... <dramatic pause>......... LEEDS.... sky then gets to show all the Leeds players looking deflated and down... while the other team on the other half of the screen are wildly celebrating.
Now THAT would be a clubcall.

| Despite Wigans fatigue yesterday I would avoid picking them. Pointless to make things potentially as difficult as possible. IF they beat Catalan we should let them and Saints beat each other up again.

| Depends how they beat Catalans, if they batter them, avoid them
If they struggle, it's a 6 point margin and they look lethargic i'd pick them.
but
If by some miracle Hudds beat Leeds, pick Hudds
Saints v Leeds have always been blood and thunder bad tempered affairs in the last few years and i'd rather those 2 played each other.

I think you'd be foolish not to pick Wigan. We look knackered and a Sunday Night game to turn around and play 5 nights later against a side that's had a week off will be amazingly tough I reckon. And at the end of the day if you want to win the Grand Final you have to beat both teams anyway.

| There is more logic in choosing Wigan (should that end up a possibility) than people are giving credit for. And that is in no way showing them disrespect. Its just that they've had the most difficult season out of all teams so far including a huge CC effort and quite frankly they are beginning to look a little tired, and understandably so.
Saints and Leeds seem to have had a red hot poker shoved up their backside and I'd bet good money that Wigan will win ugly against Catalans. That is my bet for the final four; us, Saints, Wigan and Leeds.
However, if we stick with club call protocol, ie, select the lowest ranked team, then this whole concept seriously needs firing from a cannon into wasteland as it obviously serves no purpose and does not provide the entertainment factor it was intended to.

| I think that most clubs placed in the club-call position have "agreed" to select the lowest ranking team from the league table since it was introduced. Why not simply make that the final weeks game "officially"

| The cynic in me suggests when the RFL were putting the top-8 structure in place, they spotted the silly situation where-by you could end up with week 1's fixtures from the top 4 being repeated (and, let's be honest, if we hadn't messed up last year, that's exactly what would have happened), and they desperately went rummaging around for ways to try and stop that happening, eventually pulling the 'club call' concept out of Nigel Wood's .

For me, I would dread playing them if they dispatch Wigan. I think they are the real dark horse

| Having thought about this alot, i think alot of people on here are looking at who we pick in the wrong way. We should pick the team who will be the hardest on Saints and their style of play, and the team which will knock seven shades of e out of them. Then we pick whoever is left regardless of who they are.
This is the first time I can ever remember not fearing any team in the league, so I don't mind who we pick just as long as the remaining team really takes the steam out of Saints and gives them the toughest game possible.

| If:
Wigan win, Leeds win - pick Leeds
Wigan win, Hudds win - pick Hudds
Cats win, Hudds win - pick Hudds
Cats win, Leeds win - this scenario would be the toughest call. I'd be inclined to lean marginally toward choosing the Dragons.
Choosing Wigan should really not be considered.
