I think half the Saints fans know WTF is going on. Saints fans along with Wigan usually bring the most away fans to the HJ, it is good to see and great atmosphere but tonight the West stand looked 50/50 wire and Saints, I wonder where they have all gone

At the end of the day mate, we've stuck with the minger from school and she's turned out to be a stunner, so don't try and nick her off us, y'know, we've waited a long time for this, took the laughs along the way etc. You, you took the one who had big knockers by the 3rd year and you've had your fun but now sadly it's all looking a bit rough around the edges now, tough.

At the end of the day that is why we watch RL: a fantastic match, a fantastic atmosphere and I am not at all a disappointed Saints fan.

After last week I don't think many of us thought we had a chance of another Grand Final but hopefully it gives our players the belief that we have every chance and it even shows us how you are beatable, which is possibly due to the fact you didn't play as well as you could have or maybe it was the fact that we played well to counter what you do so well, who knows but I'm sure we will find out come October.

That's a really balanced opinion. My view is that we underplayed a little but it was a good, hard game of RL. I know we'll see you again this season at some point.

Putting it your way then, Monas didn't have to do much, the tackle didn't really have any bearing on the game and it wasn't at a crucial time of the game.

The most immense thing was that kick out on the full off the crossbar, I was dunging my undies as I thought it was a dropout. I nearly did a little wee when I realised it was a penalty on halfway. Fine margins in sport, eh.

You know in 30+ years of watching RL I've never seen that before. It's the sort of thing that would happen [iagainst[/i us playing Saints normally.

I think during the 80s the Widnes Cup Kings perfected kicking at the crossbar and scoring. I don't think that was the target tonight though.

I saw a field kick bounce off the crossbar to Dave Chisnall to score against Wigan at Central Park in the 70's, a cup match I think.

I think you should get 10 points for hitting the crossbar. Call it the crossbar challenge and the winner gets a car and a new kitchen too.

One would assume not. Otherwise every team would try it from every kick off. You'd probably hit it a few times a season. The aim of the kick was to just miss the bar but have it's closeness to it put the defenders off and make them drop it. Wire had real trouble with the kick offs tonight.

wie had prblems with kick offs? didn't see any problems soz can you enlighten me could be wrong, but i thought we didn't drop any and didn't make hardly any errors directly becaus eof kick offs. you should see richards or broughs kick offs that were we struggle.

I think he is referring to the one we let out on the bounce and then they did a shortish one which Monas did well to recover but that was all.

Foster seems to rely on the spin he puts on the ball, he kicks it similar to how Ronaldo kicks a football through his action. But sometimes it doesn't come off and it ends up being just a normal kickoff.

But when he gets it right they are superb and are right up there with the likes of Richards.

Why is it a good kickoff when it went out on the full and gave no chance for any Wire player to take the ball (hence a Wire penalty)?

Now if it had of clipped the crossbar and then bounced off Myler for a knockon, or found the ground before bouncing out of play - that would have been a good kickoff.

Just rewatched the game. Saints seem to have adopted the Wigan/Leeds tactic of slowing the PtB and being as niggly as possible in tackles. Lots of gobbing off, illegal ball steals and cheap shots from Moore, Foster et al. Obviously they were out to disrupt us as much as possible. Certainly not the 'entertainers' of years gone by who'd let teams play to a degree. Had the tackles been quicker, I daresay the game may have been done and dusted by HT. Not that it matters now!

You want the tackles to be quicker? We'd sign up for that. Saints are terrible at the tough stuff you mention above. If you think that's bad, watch what Wigan do to you. You'll have time to nip for a wee and get a pint between tackles.
