Lets have some truth, you are no longer the club to beat, like it or not, that honour goes to St Helens. St Helens achievements are far superior to that of Wigans in the early 90's. Today we have a salary cap to work to (albeit one you cant ever keep), when you had your Glory days you paid your players to work full time whereas every other club worked on a part time basis. Give me a break, Wigan are a bigger club

I am glad Mathers has played well at Wire he is a nice guy, but he could not handle the pressure at a club like Wigan, he was aweful at times, its good to see him play well. I would rather have Gleeson he has been quality so far.

Neither of us have won trophies over the last few seasons, set the world alight etc. However you lot are kidding yourself if you believe players will still sign for you because of what you used to be! Get over it, move on! Financially we are in as good a position as any to offer big name players, big wages, we operate at the top end of the cap, just like yourselves, because you are Wigan RLFC it doesnt give you a divine right!

Even without the whole period of the 80's and 90's I know which history I would rather have.

Since super league began we have been to a few grand finals, won one of them. We have won a challenege cup and been to 3 challenge cup finals. For the last 2 years we have been the 3rd best team in the competition. We have also experienced huge wins making history, like the biggest comeback against Bradford and being the first team to make the grand-final from 3rd. We have played in more final eliminators than anyone else (even though not the best achievment to have, still better than wire).

So taking away our major succesful period, wire fans would dream of a super league era like that. Warringtons last major trophy was 1974 winning the challenge cup I think.

Not even mentioning crowds, or our big history, or the fact we may see ourselves as a bigger and better club having more of a right to players, not even claiming we are still the team to beat, or saying that down under if you asked who are the greatest club in England they would say Wigan, Wigan RL is still better than Warrington.
