Ben is playing great this season and will be a future Wire Legend, perhaps in a different way to what Super Ben is but still a Wire Legend.

Here's a thought - I don't want Ben Currie charging full pelt at opposition forwards waiting to decapitate him, I want him hitting crash balls wider out and using his pace and ball handling skills to open teams up.

Ben may never be another Westwood in terms of his physicality, but Ben W will never have and never has had the range of skills Ben C possesses even at a young age. It's fair to say other than Ratchford, not many players, forwards or backs have that range of skill.

The best packs have the complete range of abilities, and physiques and collectively they are the complete picture. We've been very lucky to have westwood and we're very lucky to have Currie.

He's not supposed to be a barnstorming impact player yet, but for his age, he does more than ok. He has speed, rugby skills and good size.He's been part of an excellent performance tonight- great kick through for 1st try and great support play (from a back row forward/centre) for his try. He's a good all rounder. I can see why TS has faith and plays him.

I can see that leading us in to thinking someone had called him a coward and then follow it up with according to some posters was really to say shame but I don't know if you had a drink when you posted it Irish? It doesn't initially come across well.

Perhaps a mod could address the header and clarify irish's point? I'm sure he would revise it if he was able.

Currie has struggled for form in some games this season but that can be levelled at most of the team.

Our all Ben backrow was terrific last night though.

He was absolutely playing without expressing himself fully earlier in the season. I wouldn't call it cowardice, more a lack of confidence or self belief.

He now looks more comfortable in himself, like he believes he's the open age player he now is and not the young Eng Acad captain making the step up he was. I think there's a lot more to come from the lad too.

Don't forget about that virus he had where he lost 10kg of muscle mass in a couple of weeks. In Association Football, Manchester City's John Guidetti had something similar where the virus ate away at his calf muscle and he's never been the same since and will never become the player he could have as it set his development back so much.

Excellent im the last three games though and can't wait to see how good he can become.

I think the thread title needs changing "some posters were wrong about Ben Currie" or something, very poor thread title.

Someone did post it a few weeks back. Don't recall who but it was after one of our pathetic dubbings, against Cas I think, so it was very likely posted in frustration. It doesn't help creating a witch hunt though, just attention to the header and move on.

The title should be changed. It's nonsense, whatever the spirit was in which it was intended.

Currie does need to develop the physical side of his game to become a top player. However, he was great last night and has a great skill set.

As for comparisons with Westwood, I'm not sure Westwood was even playing first team RL at Currie's age and he was an overweight centre/winger for a couple more years after he did break through. Ben C has plenty of time.

30 tackles with none missed, 11 carries for 92 metres plus the try and try assist.

Oh and he's now our top try scorer this season.

I'm sure the club and coaching staff are more than pleased with the progress of Currie and his overall development, development being the key word, the comment was rash probably spur of the moment, Curries form has settled the matter I hope once and for all.

No Yed I don't. I don't say things for drama or controversy. I would hope in the few instances I do criticise players of the team I have supported for almost forty years I give valid and fair reasons behind those criticisms.

The word coward and rl player don`t go together. Anyone at any age amateur or pro who puts a shirt on and plays are definitely not cowards. You must have never played to suggest this.
