What about an Irish winger who retired 18 months ago(ish) after a spell over in the dark side

Surely we have enough decent wingers already and one out on loan. Why do we want more?

Can't see this taking place. It's not like we don't have any wingers. The lord Tony Smith won't spend valuable money on a player to cover a week or two's injuries. The only way someone will come in is if this gossip regarding us signing a player from Union is to take place. Good job were not holding our breath or stuck under something heavy waiting for him to arrive!

to be honest i cant see anything happening this season i think he will give all players a chance before making deciding on who is going and who he will bring in. As for wingers is not like we are short in that area its not like its a specalist postion is it . Out of all the wingers in super league the one only i would bring in is Peter Fox from Hull Kr

That wouldn't suprise me.

I think between now and the end of the season Wigan, Wire and Saints will all get linked with Myler and Long(saints keeping him obvioulsy).

I can see it ending in a situation where Longs at Wire, Myler goes to Saints and we end up woth some dead leg stiff from the NRL reserve tier.

As for this Brian Carney rumour o really hope it comes off. I'd love to see him in action again although it would surely only be a short-ish term move.

I'm not saying the Brian Carney rumour is'nt true but why would we need another Winger and especially him, Hicks is obviously very good and Riley is improving with every game, we have a couple of other options if one of those picked up an injury and the younger lads in the reserves are doing fine. So were pretty sound in that position and also Carney is 33 next month and is surely a shadow of his former self.

It would certainly seem a backwards step, Carney would have been fantastic in the past, can't imagine his game would be that great after dropping out of rl for so long. We have got decent strength/potential in these areas so lets focus elsewhere and get players that could be at wire for the next 5 years IMO
