If there was something.....more likely an agent thing....but it certainty made some news and without question the biggest rumour story this year...it's hard to write off completely that it didn't have legs because it broke as a story from Yorkshire even though it was whispered here.

Somehow, I don’t think RD is the man to be asking for inside information on possible transfer deals.

Waterhouse and Hodgson weren't really under the radar as Waterhouse was an Origin and Kangaroos player and Hodgson was Man of Steel a couple of years before he joined us.

Hicks was sort of under the radar...followers of the NRL would have known he was good though, he had a good record over there and at his peak for speed (a few years before joining us) he was in the mix when people debated who was the fastest outside back in the NRL. He was still quick with us but not quick express, although still a very good all round winger.

Under the radar Aussies who were particularly good were Nat Wood and Darren Burns, who had been squad players in the NRL, and going back a few years earlier, Danny Nutley who came over as a young prop who had just had a few appearances off the South Queensland Crushers bench.

Pretty sure Hicks came along as part of an add-on with Monaghan.
I remember the first time I saw Hicks pre season in the beginning of December in a bar on a Sunday evening along with Monas and King.
Hicks had a beer belly on him...our initial thoughts was 'Omg who have we bought?"
Come season start his belly was gone and Wow! clearly the best of those 3 that season.

I think he ok. He's no SBW but does much of the unthankful stuff. He's gonna be playing more minutes than Crosby gave us and nothing less than George King on the pitch. (No disrespect to GK there, he's been our better prop over the last 2 months and sorry he's going tbh).

His form hasn't hit the highs of 3/4 years ago...but you don't forget how to ride a bike. He'll be good with BMM and Sita around him.

George King has been pretty decent of late. I'd rather have GK than Sitaleka that's for sure.
