Just watching the game again (on sky, not at the KCOM in a parallel world 4 hours behind), that Austin try on 31 mins is very special. What a player he is.

Last night I told my wife I was leaving her for Austin.

She didn’t blink, totally understood.

Austin certainly produced a master class last night. But SP likes to talk about flexibility and having players that can slot into different positions as and when the injuries come along. So the worry perhaps is who would replace Austin ? And the player likes to hit hard and mix it in the tackling, he doesn't exactly hide away and protect his body. We don't have a player in the squad that can reproduce what Austin brings to the team so that for me is a big worry, particularly when we get to the season finale and its a matter of winning one off games.

Much as Roberts got bagged for being homesick and wanting to go home early, we wouldn't have had Austin if he hadn't.

I wonder how people would have been viewing Roberts now if he had toughed it out for the duration of his contract like Asotasi did.

Audrey off of Corrie, a fine mover back in the day but lost enthusiasm when she came to us.

As an opposing fan i can only look on with sheer envy at you having a player of such class as a player and a person. He is an elite player and an absolute stand out in SL without the baggage of a Barba or Sandow. The measure of a man who integrates into the towns community life whilst producing performances like he does is only to be congratulated. The new Man Of Steel points system could see him beaten for the accolade though (although early days yet). The only one big problem i see with the Austin thing is anyone with that much ability and form who was already good in the NRL beforehand won't be going un-noticed by the major NRL players even at this early stage. Regardless of Austin's obvious top class temperament the danger is that he will be persued (probably) and this is the killer for Super League. We can't offer enough incentives for the stars to stay. If he carries on olaying like that he will be remembered in Super League annuls as being a great, no doubt about it.

Had a long chat with Blake after BMM`s and Roxy`s wedding tonight and if he is true to his word, then there are some "Long exciting times ahead" for us, as Wire fans, have never of a heard of a more "committed" overseas signing, he is, already "Wire Through and Through" and wants to b e at the forefront of bringing silverware to our club /town....

Only just seen Austin's tries ,he really split the Hull defence with his dummies & swerves.

Up until those 4 tries, his attitude has been the best thing about him...that isn't derogatory to his playing...that been excellent but his attitude has been exemplary.

Ridiculous player. You can see the fear in opposition players when he has ball in hand. All four tries were ridiculous.

Purring at the thought of watching him now and then imagining Widdop playing next to him next season.

Hull took more dummies than a shoplifter in Mothercare, bound to create doubt when he attacks the line in future.

My mate turned round to me after his 4th try and said 'i think he might be the best half ive ever seen play for us'.

Hard to make a counter argument currently.

Certainly the best half since Briers retired and it was a stand out performance but lets see if his form can be maintained.
