Ian Brown

Ian Brown isn't from Warrington. He's from Timperley in Trafford.

Yes he is.

He lived on Sylvan Avenue in Timperley throughout his childhood (which is round the corner from me). John Squire lived on the same road. Lots of both of their families still live around Timperley now, Ian Brown's cousin is married to the son of one of my neighbours and another cousin of his is us a mutual friend of one of my mates. I think he might have been born in Warrington but that's about it.

Lived in Orford till he was 5 or 6 so in my book he's from Warrington. He lives in Lymm now.

Not forgetting, the patron saint of WKD, the duchess of the giro .... Miss Kerry Katona, a kebab wielding jewel in the town's crown.

Haha - I was in the same boat the other day when I checked Wiki for clarification on the Rainhill/Widnes situation and thought, "I hope no one walks past and sees what I'm doing."

Please remove this p***k from the list. He refuses to be associated with Warrington, therefore I refuse to have him associated with Warrington. He can claim he was born in London for all I care. He is not a Warringtonian and never will be.

I've never heard him deny his roots, he's a good broadcaster on a national level and there are only so many times the, "I remember pulling wheelies up and down Poplars..." story will keep a wider audience enthralled.

Anywayyyyy, back on topic I tried the new away shirt on yesterday and IMO it's a belter. Better fit than last years, slightlier stretchy material by all accounts and most importantly; it looks like the players version! Same collar etc. Brookson sponsor logo is less obtrusive built into the white horizontal stripe than the white square across the home shirt.

Are the players versions of the home shirt in the shop yet? I get paid on Friday and might buy myself a Christmas present. Not bought a shirt since the 2006 white Puma, so thought I'd treat myself to a proper top of the range one as this one looks really good.
