Different player to Monaghan who has far better distribution skills and has been the best hooker in Superleague for a number of years. Clarkes strengths are his running game and his pace (ability to back up breaks from anywhere on the pitch.)

He needs a quick PTB to thrive.

Perfect player for us given the way we promote the ball and play. In tandem with Higham, Ratchford & Grix and we are going to be lightning fast down the middle.

Great signing but I just raise a word of caution.
He's a different type of player to Monas - as Rogues has said.
I just hope people don't expect too much from him too soon.

Leeds by and large snuffed him out of the CC final.
He's a runner (in the Micky mode only - probably - more elusive), but we need to see his distribution skills and whether he can read a game like Monas.
If he can develop those parts of his game in the first couple of years here then he'll really storm it in the 2nd half of his contract.

If he does turn out like James Roby (he's a carbon copy!) then you will have a fine hooker for the foreseeable. Not to dampen anything for you lot but if this kid gets better then the NRL will start looking at him.

I just can't wait to see Clarke and Roby playing for England and the club battle should be great in our games.

The names Boyd, Ashcroft and Wanbon come to mind.

No doubt. But he's a straight replacement for Monas and they each currently wear 14.

Rogues, he's only 21, plenty of time to improve on his distribution.

His distribution is typically good, where he can't compete with Monas is on vision to spot a killer pass.

Only our fans could find a negative in signing man of steel elect. Let's go back to the likes of Sullivan, Clarke, thursfield and takere Barlow.
