I couldn't find Wire FM on the internet radio and GMR was playing up, so I listened to the BBC Radio Humberside commentary.
It was of course biased as you would expect but they were creaming themselves that they hadn't got their usual hammering. Seems like they have their sights set suitably low!

Well, they were never able to build on a very good debut album. '....Morning Glory' was a decent follow up, but everything since then has been a parody of themselves.

I can still appreciate why they remain a popular live act, as their big tunes will be forever associated with a certain era, but they've never produced anything that comes near the first 2 records since.

The break-up is a good thing, if only to stop the tedious hype that used to precede an Oasis release, which would inevitably be a bit of a letdown.

The first two albums are in the top ten best ever IMO. Defenitley maybe has to be the best debut album by any british band.

I agree they did lose themselves due to one thing or another but they still produced great music.

Be here now sounds better now than it was when first released but how can you beat the first two albums? It's always down hill when you make them your first records!

My thoughts are: We started off like a house on fire, kept on attacking the Hull KR line, trying to keep the ball alive but other times we seemed to have ran out of ideas when we were on the line. Hull KR attacked us 3 times on our line and scored 3 times in the first half. The last 20 minutes were mostly all Warrington. My heart was in my mouth when Peter Fox picked up the ball and ran for our try line only for Joel to come racing and make a superb tackle (this was the game changer for me) it was a brilliant tackle and it made Fox drop the ball and us to have possession. In which, Hodgson found himself running towards the line from close in after swift hands just managing to get the ball down. Hodgson then, nerves of steel about 10 in from the touchline nailed the conversion.

Not the best performance, but a wins a win. Need to improve for next week but great fighting spirit and characther at the end.
