| Quote ="easyWire"The Fusitua sin-binning was technically the most correct decision of the evening for me. Harsh if not considering the rules, but it's a rule that has always stood: Go for a player and not the ball, during a try-scoring opportunity (even if he wouldn't have scored) and you go for 10. For reference see how many times Hughes got binned for us over the years by stepping into the path of players. I think a big Saints playoff game is one that springs to mind.'"
Yep. A professional foul in a 'try scoring opportunity' is either a penalty try (if the video refs opinion is that a try would have been scored without the foul play) or a sin-binning, no middle ground. It was stupid of Fusitua.

| Good. The fact they can't even flog it in RL heartland may help them decide to put the concept out to pasture. Utterly pointless enterprise that just repeats fixtures that have no meaning, half of which have no bearing on anything now.

There is talk of where it goes next year with Nottingham, Dublin and Paris in the conversation. I don’t ever want it going to Paris since the French decided to bale on the World Cup, don’t want to be putting money into their economy. Always fancied Dublin, and as for having it in the heartland I always thought the concept was to take it around the country to showcase the sport to new people.

Zane Musgrove’s longer minutes
https://www.loverugbyleague.com/post/wa ... fitzgibbon
Musgrove has played in 18 of Warrington’s 21 games in Super League this season: and the former Samoa international has played longer minutes in recent weeks than what we’re used to seeing from him in a primrose and blue jersey thus far.
“I think he’s been great,” Burgess said of Musgrove.
“I’ve been trying to get him a few more minutes, I wanted to see him in that zone of fatigue and see how he managed it but he’s been great.
“I think he’s played a lot for us, I think he’s only missed four or five games so he’s been pretty consistent for us.”

| Team selection for next week, will be giving Burgess some food for thought. Would you rotate the middles, freshen up the pack. With Vaughan having a week off maybe. It’s now becoming to a point in the season where you’d want everyone fit and in form, that includes the fringe players.

Normally I would say yes but with it looking like points difference coming in to it I’d go strong. Only change I’m thinking of is Dufty he was still limping at the end of the game. Rather him fitter for Leigh

| We definitely need to find a rest for Dufty, it would be a disaster for him to be burned out and get injured before the playoffs. Thewlis or Taylor-Wray are more than worthy cover options at FB.

Should be giving thewlis the option to play dufty style with williams, be better to give him some reps now than be forced into it mid game following an injury

These are some stats from his last 6 matches. So he averaged 23mins per match. I'm not sure how that is him getting more minutes. He played 40mins in the London match but looks like he took it easy to allow himself to be on for that long, seeing as he only took 8 carries in.

Out of interest where do you find the minutes per game? Superleague site doesn't show that right?
He's our 4th best prop IMO, Vaughan, Harrison & Yates are all more than capable of being 50 - 60 minute props, so his game time will be limited given we only have 2* 80 minutes worth of prop time in a game. He's dong the job that's being asked of him - and Burgess seems pretty happy with him.
I was probably expecting a little more from him to be honest, but he's still ahead of Philbin and Wood for me in the pecking order, but they are on his heels.

I would agree with you. Those stats are not ripping up any trees are they. The stats here ( https://www.superleague.co.uk/player/1901/zane-musgrove) are not much better save for a 8.17 AG.

I watch every game and for some reason when people have been subbed and come on usually sticks in my head. So i just quickly scanned the games to make sure my timings were about right and corrected where needs be. As you say, the superleague site doesn't show it. Sometimes it doesn't even show a sub on the events section which is pretty poor but about what you'd expect from RL.
I'd defiantly have Wood ahead of Musgrove. Philbin is a tougher decision. I'd compare Max Woods stats but again RL shows it's amateur make up because his name doesn't appear on the player stats page for the matches he played in. He doesn't even have a profile on our team page on the site even though he's been a first team player since mid last season.

Just read this on Guardian website, I was all for him having the week off anyway. Doubt he himself will want to be out to long if the comments made by Williams in jest about Dufty obsessed with MoM and MoS he will want to be playing.

I watched him play for Wigan in their Academy Semi against our Academy at the end of season play-off.
He was a substitute and scored a try in that game.
Wigan won but were disqualified for using too many interchanges.

Yea, I'm not sure why I thought he signed last season but for some reason I did until you pointed it out. It's still pathetic that he's not posted as a player and doesn't appear in any stats on the SL site

| Those Musgrove stats are interesting. He is definitely not a bad player. But if you are playing <30 minutes per game, as a senior pro, you should really be blasting the opposition off the park when you are on the field, and I don't think he does that. Otherwise you are just getting someone else to do your job for you.

| I've been disappointed with Musgrove and voiced it, but sitting back and thinking about it he's not actually doing a bad job.
He comes on, takes the ball up well and defends well. But i still think he plays low minutes and I think he's a bit lazy at times with little things he does.
But he's doing a job and letting Vaughan and Harrison etc get rest during games so helps avoid putting too much work on others.
Yates has been superb for that, really really happy with his signing.

I think that's why I struggle to get too exercised about it. Musgrove isn't a guy who is going to come on, give away two penalties or knock on near our own line. He averages one error in every four games and concedes one penalty in every three.
What I'd like to see is him playing longer minutes in Hull/Cas/London type games because we shouldn't have to burn out our top guys by making them playing 60-70 minutes in those sorts of games.
