Yet yesterday it was the goalkicking that made the difference. I wasn't there ( having finished a meeting in Esher at 6pm I think I can be forgiven ) but , maye if we'd had a better kicker we'd have taken two points from one or two of the 13 penalties we were awarded. It may well be that a couple of reffing decisions went against us, but these tend to even themselves out over a season. Giving up six points because we couldn't kick conversions is entirely down to us.

Choose to try for the 6pts rather than take the penalty kick is a tactical choice made the coaching staff. If we'd have taken the kicks and scored/missed it would have altered the way the game restarted and could have altered the sets that followed them etc etc. It's all if's, but's and maybe's.

Now I know how saints fans feel when playing leeds at O.T. If we are living on past glories.....Remind me again , what did you win last year?

Pity we weren't there. I've been hoping for a Wire-Saints final for a few years now, not because we beat you so regularly but because we both play similar, open-style rugby league and so our games have become so good to watch. Pity we were total bollox last season. Well, a pity from my POV anyway!!

Meanwhile, all Saints fans saved a small fortune last year as going to Wembley three years on the bounce proved very, very pricey!

It was the final the public wanted wasn't it. I know it was the final that I wanted. If we were to get there again this year, I really sincerely hope it'd be against your lot, and I know that there's a greater risk of heartache with your lot, but I want it to feel like a final. There was something missing last year for me somehow, sort of difficult to explain, it'll seem like I'm running Huddersfield down, just a lack of emotion, lack of atmosphere, lack of hatred if you like - so to speak. It was all a bit too nicey nicey.

I want to win, with a try in the last minute, and during wild scenes of celebrations, for my brain to engage and think "Ha ha, there's 30,000 of them sods in bits over there, 'ave some of that ... there's your 16 years ... shove it up your $%££$ %%£ £&££$ ..." (At this point, my voice will start to break up, and I'll cry, lots.)

Briers may or may not have won you the game, but if your so reliant on one player that needs addressing.

First big game in how many years? We were waiting to take you in the Grand Final, but you couldn't even make the Play Offs.

What makes you so sure you would have beaten us in a grand final had we got there? It's not like you have much success in grand finals against teams who play in blue and yellow is it?

There are no guarantee's, but our record of 39 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat against you is pretty convincing.

Wet heavy pitch. That means forwards need to perform and half-backs need to control your position on the field with a good kicking game. Our forwards did their part, the half-backs were awful for us. What happened to Monas's kicking game out of dummy half? Why does Richie Myler always seem to miss kick the ball? Grix was the most effective kicker for me, why didn't do it more often?

The referee was awful. If Saints we're trying to get the ball out of their half and struggling, they received a penalty. I wasn't able to see the ins and outs of all of them, I just thought it strange that I was able to predict when a penalty would be given against us. 3 times I called it.

That game was ours for the taking, we bottled it. It was ours to lose and we did so.

Warrington won the penalty count 12 - 9.

So that's a 12-9 penalty count I've heard we won, a 13-6 one and an 11-8 one.

And anyway Rogues, I believe the poster you quoted was questioning the areas in which the penalties were given, not how many penalties were given.
