I find this all very sickening, why should the fans or indeed the club or moran give this waster anymore of our hard earned cash.

Its just soured everything that was good about winning the Cup.

But then again I'd rather they had the money and the medal ended up at the club or with a charity than it go to some unnamed winning bidder and disappear into the ether. The seller is going to get the money either way.

My thoughts exactly. If the Warrington fans on downtothewire want it to go to the club then get one of the mods to set up a paypal account and fans can add as much or as little as they want to it. Then bid only as much as is in the fund so you dont run the risk of overbidding. If you win, happy days. If you don't, give it to the benevolent fund and you can all enjoy that glowing feeling of having done something good.

Actually, reading peoples posts and how peeved they are, I don't think that's a good idea unless it's part of a.......what's that word that the football clubs use........consortium, that's it. A consortium.

I'm sure Skents wouldn't mind writing a piece about the fans forming a 'consortium' to buy the medal for the club, we could get some local press coverage, maybe a wider fan base than just posters on here would donate.

There was nothing to suggest that it was Rau so for people to be slagging him off over something that he may have nothing to do is a bit out of order

I have had it on good authority that it was not a medal belonging to anyone who played in the final.
The seller wanted a collection in Warrington so that narrows it down quite a bit.


Any way if the seller is too ashamed to carry on with the auction I am still willing to take it off their hands and ensure it has a good home.

rumour is that it has been bought by a Mr M Gleeson from Wigan as he didnt have the opportunity to win one.

If it is who people are saying it is then I firmy stand even more by my statement that he didn't care about the club.

Just think about what your spouting before your type. This guy could need the money for other things that are far too personel to go into.

i can fully understand why you wouldnt want the medal when you didnt earn it! but they should have give it to charity not try to flog it!
