If there was [iany[/i way we could release space on the cap (claim that Sita isn't employed as a player but is doing a study into the effect of inertia on sportsmen, for example) to get Drinkwater in, we should do it.

He isn't brilliant, but he's one of the best going round at the moment and would tick all the boxes.

And we've been talking about it since the 22-22 draw at least.

If that happens Catalans should be liquidated with immediate effect by default. Like trading a Audi R8 for a Renault Megane.

I'm sure that Drinkwater only had a deal until the end of the season. If so, not a case of Catalans releasing him so much as not being able to match whichever offer is on the table.

In July he did an interview where he said that he'd had 'a really good meeting with a club in England' but that his manager was 'talking to 3 or 4 others'. He also said that he had given West Tigers first refusal if he returned to Australia.

Would we not have to release Brown before we could add another halfback, or do we have room for another Marquee signing?

Quota shouldn’t be an issue, we have Pomeroy, Roberts, Thompson & Mitch Brown leaving with so far only Austin & Clark coming in. Room for at least two more I’d think.

We need a kicking half. Austin's a runner. Dec isn't a top kicker. Brown is more of a passer.
Drinkwater is class but actually can't remember what his kicking is like.

I'd like a really hard man prop.
Backs are good, although we've lost some depth with Mitch and Pomeroy going.

Danny Walker therefore would not count on the cap, as he isn't 20 till next year - puts even greater focus on the youth structures, Wigan must have been rubbing their hands together at that one.
