1 half...extra forward, as mentioned earlier in the thread.

I believe Charnley and Hughes will play too.

I’m a realistic man slightly to the side of positive. I never read too much into bad runs of form and tend to see why teams are in those runs.

But it’s not that we are a really good team that’s really well coached in a rut. With us, we have some of the best players in the league who always stand up and stand out against anyone (Ratchford Austin and Clark) but we also have a lot of deadwood and a complete lack of pace and punch in the forwards. And we are not well coached and we lack creative plays.

We are capable of raising our game when our best players play well and the middle ground lads who aren’t our best players but aren’t the deadwood raise their game.

But we are a bit beat up at the moment, not at full strength and Ratchford and Austin are coming off the back of long term or recent injuries.

Even if our big three put in top level performances and our middle ground raise their game, we have a lot of gaps and fitness issues to be anywhere near confident of winning this game.

Well of course you'd say your injured star player is only 50/50 to make the final line-up

Haha 50/50 meaning we will give as long as possible before a final judgement is made Saturday morning/Friday to prove his fitness. Personally, I would rather have a 50-60% fit Austin out there over 100% fit Patton. I suppose it’s whether Price thinks the risk/liability outweighs the reward...

Is it just me or :

If other teams have injured player who comes back for a crucial game they play a blinder, whilst we tend to get a a reasonable 40 mins then end up carrying them for the rest of the game.

Let's have Austin do the former not the latter !

There is no way they are 100% fit, neither are any of the other guys who will play this weekend.

I can't see Austin playing but the others might. Hughes and ratchford most likely. Doesn't matter who we play if all we are going to do is the same as the last few weeks anyway.

Only the players and staff know the real situation.
WG doesn't but it's good to fill pages and speculate.

I was at Murrayfield in about 2002. I'm sure I'll get corrected...anyways I remember Kris Radlinksi being almost dead 24hrs before and like Lazerath arouse to play the match before returning as Lance Todd winner back to the high dependence unit.
I'm pretty sure Gary Connelly did it a couple of years ahead of that....thinkin further...Edwards was always touch and go before a challenge cup...

Taking the Guardian article at face value, his chances do seem slim. If Austin is out and Charnley fit I’m guessing that Ratchford moves to the halves and Mamo to fullback.

Ive heard about us going with 1 half and a 7th forward.....but if we do, we will get more rinsed than i thought we would in the first place!! Its forcast 25 degrees Saturday and the pitch temperature will be more, for me it isnt the way to go, then again, im not sure what is.

If Ratch to 6 is considered id rather see Thewlis at full back as oppossed to Mamo.

Its going to be a very interesting squad release on Thursday!!
