| As a Rovers fan of many years I have seen the following in the last few years, scrapping in and around Craven Park (not all the time, but happens) e.g the Hull v. Rovers disgrace the other year, again poor stewarding followed by the nutters. Scrapping in the East stand amongst ourselves, e.g when some numptys become disgustingly abusive and people object, = flashpoint, followed by crap stewarding. Away at the KC (twice) been spat on , assaulted and my 2 young daughters the same, and seen some serious scrapping (actually outside in the side streets etc). Have been to the KC since and had no trouble.
All I can say is please don't tar all of us with the same brush, but yes there are definetly some complete nutters go to Rovers and Hull.
As regards the nutters at other clubs, perhaps yours included, I will not comment or get into a p!ssing contest, BUT i will not attend away games for a number of reason, time, money and not wanting to be treat like an idiot by police or stewards, or mainly because I do not need to be abused or assaulted by anyone just because of a game of rugby.
I would not blame anyone who decides to NOT travel to the City of Hull to watch rugby, until safety is guaranteed, but I can't see it happening 100% anytime soon.
I really do think it's society in general at the moment, just look at the news....eg a guy in Pudsey gets a cricket ball thrown at his car, stops to sort it out, set upon by a gang and stabbed twice....ffs, what's that all about ?
Anyways....enjoy your rugby and good luck for the season

The clubs really need to start getting tough with these idiots.

won't stop me coming I ain't really witnessed any crowd trouble at hull kr and just the 1 occasion at fc after the 05 game were hull decided to fight instead of watch there team parade challenge cup...
What seems odd is that after the quatre final last year I came across very nice friendly kr fans wishing us well in the semi final etc but after they have won a game there's crowd trouble

Despite deciding then to never return, I have been back to Hull twice ('that' cup game and the Joey game at the KC) and on both occasions we (my young son and myself) were on the end of some of the most vicious and foul mouthed abuse I have ever heard. Shame really as majority of fans are nice genuine people.
I remember going to Wilderspool back in the 80's and being scared stiff of some of the idiots who went in those days--in fact Warrington fans were well known for trouble back then.

I let our kid sing Shiit Helens. As long as she knows it's only acceptable at the rugby and that she isn't to repeat those words anywhere else, I think it's fine. It's pretty hard to take a kid at an impressionable age to a sporting arena and not expect them to pick up some of the language/chants. Just need to be responsible about how you go about it.

Warrington has its idiots, same as every other club, but I have never witnessed a gang of 20somethings screaming into the face of a 7 year old that they hope he and his dad effin die on the way home as happened to us outside the KC. Nor have I witnessed teenagers surrounding a car with a family in it banging on the windows and roof whilst hurling verbal abuse as happened after the cup defeat at KR.
I'm sure there are thousands of really decent folk in Hull, I have chatted with many at cup finals and 'magic weekends', but the idiots take things to a level that I have never witnessed anywhere other than Hull.

| Most deprived, high poverty and high unemployment cities have problems, Hull is no exception. Walking to my car I looked around the sink estates, dog crap festooned streets, gangs of youths, litter and boarded up shops and thought Britain really is broken.

| 7 years ago i used to drive a bus in London, it used to go through the West End so you can imagine it was pretty busy the capacity when full is 80 people and from the start to end of shift when logging off our ticket machines it would tell you how many people you'd picked up which was usually between 900-1200 a day.
In that whole shift you'd only remember the one person that gave you grief, that one person would ruin most drivers day, that one person would make a driver come back to the garage saying
"god, i really hate the public"
Most people would dismiss the other 1199 people who were courteous and polite.
Why do we have to dwell on the negative?
I have an idea each club on the back of their tickets should have a number or email address, let them know the nature of the problem the time it occurred and it's location.
That way we could have proactive stewarding and policing and start to cut out all this nonsense.
Why are we painting Hull fans, like Wigan fans, like Wire fans, like Salford fans etc etc ad infinitum ?
Dwell on the [umajority[/u it's their opinion and behaviour that is the most important surely ?

I say thankfully, but if it had indeed been 18 years ago, we'd have had Neil Kinnock as PM in 1992. I wonder what would then have happened.
