| What's up with Pomeroy? Is he injured? Shouldn't mess around with the team last week in my opinion.

Yes he and Gidley picked up knocks in the Wigan game - sensible thing to leave them out given this is a bit of a 'dead rubber'

It's not really a dead rubber, depending on this and Leigh's result will decide which team we play where, i would rather it work that we have Widnes back here.

| It's more about what happens in the Leigh game. If Leigh win we need to let Widnes beat us to get them at HJ but that defeats the object of wanting them at home

| Skybet as us giving 18 to Widnes, think that's a bit extreme.

| This is one of the least important games we have played for years. It will be interesting to see how SKY try and make it look. After this we have a rest. We have not had a rest for a long time.

| I suspect Gidley and Currie(for obvious reasons) being rested for more important games coming up, this is a meaningless game in terms of season positioning.

Why wouldn't Currie play? He's either fit enough or he isn't, if he isn't fit enough there is no way in the world he would have been risked against Wigan if all teams!
Currie needs to play so he has the match fitness to be back playing 80 mins at the start of the 8's.

| Dead rubber? Meaningless? No point?
Have you all lost your minds? Every single game is a must win. Momentum and getting into a winning habit is absolutely everything right now.
The last thing we need now is to loose tomorrow and have the confidence we found by beating Wigan destroyed. We need a huge win against the Chemics to keep this momentum going.
Just like when we lost to Leigh at the start of the season and Wakey mid season, failing to close out the game against Wigan at Magic. The same people were posing "It doesn't matter, this will all be forgotten about come the end of the season" Well no it hasn't has it?!? because if we'd won those 3 games we'd be in the top 8 and home safe for next season. How can anyone post about games not meaning anything after the season we've just witnessed is utterly beyond me.

I agree with you about winning being important from a winning mentality POV. However, whilst we should, without sounding arrogant, have expected to beat Leigh, we were never in the game and got what we deserved.
Wakefield at home "mid season" was a win, or do you mean our recent trip to Belle Vue? A bit like Leigh an abject performance with no heart, only this time the game was up there was no promise of an end of season revival.
Let's hope we put Widnes to the sword tomorrow and go into the mid 8's in the best possible frame of mind. Having said that there aren't any circumstances where I wouldn't want a win v the Chemics NTW

| It's still a dead rubber however it's billed.
But yes we should be winning it but yes to resting players because of the near rewardless cause.

| I think playing Currie last week was a last ditch attempt to stay in the top 8 ,providing other results were favourable, but let's not kid ourselves ,the team only managed to hold on in the last couple of minutes for the win after Wigan came back but ran out of time. A good lesson to learn for a start this week would be how to avoid this year's sucker punch by starting on the front foot instead of conceding from the out set. Closing a game out would also be a good lesson to learn for when we come up against Championship teams with nothing to lose by throwing the kitchen sink at the Wire in the play offs.

Well, Currie had recovered from his knee injury, so he would have been due back to play regardless of who we were playing. You always wan't your best players back asap surely ? And I agree with Moving on, Currie is surely certain to play tomorrow to get him match fit again.

| It's a dead rubber as the outcome for us (bar the difference in who we play at home / away) is irrelevant to where we will finish. Of course we should look to build on recent performances, but not at the risk of playing injured players. As it turns out it seems people better get used to having Russell and Brown back in the side, as they are both our for 4 or 5 weeks.

Gids is out for 5 weeks, Pomeroy 4 weeks
www.warringtonguardian.co.uk/spo ... /?ref=mmsp
Not a big deal I suppose, Gidley won't be here next year and Pomeroy is unlikely to stay unless its a Pay as You Play, but will have Hiku, TKing, Livett infront of him for the 2nd centre spot.

I don't think that anyone is calling for TS to risk playing injured players, or that's not how I'm reading it. As far as Currie is concerned, unless he's tweaked something then he must surely be in a better place than he was against Wigan and playing in what might be deemed to be in a less arduous game?
I've not been a supporter of Russell but if he's the best available rather than an automatic choice then so be it and it will be interesting to see how he performs outside Hiku as opposed to Evans or a Hughes playing at centre.
