Not sure about that, TSs body language is always like that even if he is discussing the weather. He has an uncomfortable manner with any public speaking and is a master at answering questions without actually answering them. You feel he just wants to be away from it and doing some coaching and training!

Notwithstanding I think it is a safe bet that LAnderson is going and that King is on the very edge of leaving.

if louis and king go and we get waterhouse will that still leave a lot of the cap left? i know about the ratchford rumours and that but how much will he be on? might still have some spare or get a better player than ratchford?

I doubt it. Waterhouse is a high profile player and if he does come in, I feel that we need to get rid of King to accomodate him under the cap.

Just watch him on the red button tomorrow, after the game (hopefully after a win), and he'll be fidgetting and never looking towards the camera etc. He's like this regularly, probably why he does no summary work for Sky anymore (that, and he hates Stevo - you can tell....oh, and far too many "you know"'s when he's being interviewed).

It is obvious who's going and who's staying. The club can't come out mid-season and announce who's going, because we're doing well and it could derail our season a little. Everybody loves transfer speculation, but our priority is this year and if we start saying our goodbyes to Matt and Louis, they may start to ease up a little, or fans may look to them as scapegoats if we get beaten.

However, the club, as a business, will have to plan ahead, so when you see players getting new contracts, it's obvious that they know exactly what's going on. I find it very hard to believe that the club would just sit and wait on King and Anderson.

Maybe he was finding it hard? The Anderson's are really nice blokes so maybe he was welling up at the thought of him not being around?

Seems to me TS is expecting one to stay and one to go. Although I think King is definitely on his way by the way TS was speaking fondly of everything he has done for the club.

I have wondered about this too. I don't think you can.

Erm we all knew Paul Johnson was on his way long before he left - and we all knew Brett Hodgson was coming long before he arrived.


King has said we will know with in two weeks - I suspect it may be even sooner. But even if he goes he will still be an important part of the team until the end of the season.
He has got to make the right choice for himself and his family as his career at the top is liomited to just a few more years.

IIRC, Smith wasn't pleased when news of Hodgson came out.

As for Paul Johnson, I don't even remember that far back, but, from what I've seen of Smith, he generally tries to keep things under wraps, no matter how much people like you push and probe for answers.

I personally find it very very hard to believe we'd have left it this late for King and Anderson to make decisions on their futures. With other clubs in the market for imports and homegrown players, I doubt that we'd just sit there watching the clock go by as King and Anderson um and ah as to what they want to do, it's just vastly unprofessional and leaves us in a bit of a mess if they do suddenly decide to go.

My take on what Mr Smith was saying is......

Two of my players are out of contract at the end of this season. I want them to stay but I fully understand that a professional RL players career is relatively short so I am giving them the space to make the best decision for them and their family's.

Am i the only one who really doesn't rate Ratchford in any way? Even if King goes we'll have Atkins, Bridge, Evans and Grix who i feel would be stronger than him in the centres.
