Powell has to be able to build his own side, it was never going to be a 1 season fix, recruitment has been appalling for far too long, that said there have been a few underwhelming signings.

There is something in magoulias, he has a few tricks up his sleeves but he needs to get quite a lot fitter. He stated this move was about getting noticed to get an NRL gig and he is miles off that right now.

Magoulias had some good touches and passes and the fitter he gets the better. The pack as we all no well isn't big or aggressive enough and there's nothing we can do about it this year. 6-7 players will leave and we need a minimum of 2 Props and maybe another Second rower.
Williams does nothing much during a game as does Daz Clark or Widdop, and again i think that steps from a crap forward pack.
Next year is our year so lets just look forward to that

Probably stating the obvious but somethings gone really wrong with your pre season prep - whether it's the culture/togetherness of the team, fitness, tactics I'm not sure but the players haven't responded to Powell at all.

Thewlis, Dean, Ashton and Walker look the brightest sparks but too many players look shadows of their former selves - Clark, Williams, Charnley, Holmes to name a few.

Feels like English players returning from the NRL tend to struggle in their first year back - Bateman, Tomkins, Mossop, Williams etc- maybe they simply feel flat and demotivated as they're never back for rugby related reasons - usually homesickness.

Of the senior players, Cooper is head and shoulders above the rest. It wouldn't be fair on them to play just the youngsters plus the best of the academy, but I do hope that next year looks something like...
