You lack squad players prepared to put it in big time, some of your players need to put a shift in I expect some of our replacements next week will give you a game.

To be fair Duckie, I'm just providing a bit of common sense reality to the numerous knee-jerkers on here, who seem convinced that we should be challenging for the title.

Anyone with half an ounce of RL intelligence could see that 17 we named today was going to struggle. With a fully fit squad we are at least one quality forward short. With injuries we are an 11th best in the competition side.

Best advice I can give for some on here is to totally recalculate your expectations for the next 12/24 months - its going to be a long, and sometimes, painful journey. I'd suggest either show some patience, or give the sport a rest for the next couple of years.

Powell has to be given time and I assume he approved all the player ins and outs. Just wonder why Hill was let go and why he was not replaced as forward power is a serious problem. A mate suggested he built a Cas side without "stars" and that he may have come across a few egos at Warrington which represented more of a challenge

That was woeful today from us - pedestrian, lacking penetration, lacking enthusiasm, lacking ideas, lacking leadership, lacking cohesion, lacking skill and sadly lacking any pride at all in the Warrington jersey.

People are muttering about Powell, but the vast majority of the players who played today are experienced rugby league players, and to perform like they did is shameful. Something is wrong with their attitude, and until that changes, we're a mid table/let's hope for a cup run kinda team, nothing more.

I think you're spot on. I've felt aggrieved since Price was tosh last 2 play offs but got to leave on his terms, wave goodbye and get himself a new job down under.

There seems to be no repercussions for poor performance at this club.

The thing is, on reflection we had a relatively decent season last year (puts tin hat on) barring our disasterous exits from the playoffs and CC.
We only lost 5 games and finished 3 points behind Saints and 7 behind Catalans. Now don't get me wrong, it was 100% time for Steve Price to go, however i feel we have gone backwards this year by a considerable leap with a similar playing roster (-C Hill). And i think the general expectation was for us to be an improvement on last year with a new coach coming in. It's still early days but within 3 games we've definately gotten ourselves into a bit of a hole..

This result did not shock me as Wakey pushed both Saints + Cats close so credit where it’s due but even after 6 games Mr Powell is under pressure as this team looks absolutely terrible and how the hell Cooper can come out with our pack is alright is beyond belief when every pundit has said it’s a very light pack.A very long season ahead

Maybe the players are not buying into the Powell way of playing, if that's the case you are in serious trouble. Only time will tell!!

Think that and also underestimating wakefield, who every game I’ve watched so far have been very competitive apart from the first half against Leeds .This was the first game with both our first choice halfs playing together and they didn’t disappoint .Hopefully another cracking game next weekend ,best of luck ,your going to need it on that showing .

Problem we have is if we dropped players, who do we have to come in?
The team virtually picks its self every week as we have no depth.
We’re a squad of 50% 2nd rowers and bang average ones at that.

We have a reserve team Duckie. Use it. If we go out of the cup - so be it, it’s a long term culture that needs to start right now. No matter what your salary/reputation if you’re not playing well enough then you’re in the reserves.

There were good things - getting Ashton into space early in the game, the finish by Thewlis, and Walkers well worked try with Philbin. Then there were the bad things - Widdop's launch out of the line, Hughes's late hit that will most likely see him getting sat down two games, our goal line defence and defensive structure.

There's a huge problem with attitude and leadership, with the senior players setting a bad example instead of a good one.

It doesn't matter whether a coach has been at the club for one, six, or a hundred games, they're not going to make any progress until we have the right attitude and leadership on the field. DP needs to resolve these issues, immediately, and it's so plainly obvious that he's made a mistake with the captaincy.

Integrating a new coaching team, and new players into what was left behind by Price, I accept will take time, but the right attitude by the squad should have been there from round one. We need leaders that deserve and command respect, to ensure the attitude of the team on the field of play is on point. A priority that needs sorting, as DP's gauntlet is still on the dressing floor.
