Well, Huddersfield may be a but hot and cold at the moment but let's be fair, that's a great result and wonderfully unexpected.

Yes, it sounds like we still struggled to click at times but a victory like that has to be a great confidence booster to the players and staff. Make no doubt about it Anderson will have kicked Giants backside in training following defeat last week, but we soaked everything up, kept our heads and delivered a sucker punch. With Rhys looking good, Paul Wood back and Ben H (I assume) imminent things are looking better.

Not wonderful, not perfect, not problem-free but hey, with the exception of Leeds & Saints we're in pretty good company in that respect.

Great result for us, the lads found a way to win in the absence of a kicking game which is good but I hope we can start pulling it all together soon. Russell is a great addition to our starting lineup, ratchford has shown in the past that he is a good goalkicker but perhaps he needs someone to convince him of that at the minute?

I don’t think Ratchford will have to worry about goal kicking for a while.
Remember Bridge was the first choice kicker before we signed Hodgson.
I don't know why Ratchford was given first dibs in the first place.

It was good to see Rhys leading the way to the line & showing the way through with a superb dummy which eventually led to Benny & Richie doing the same. It was as if the confidence rose in our team in the second half when they realised there was an alternative to just end to end passing but going nowhere. Hopefully, its just been a late start to the season which will improve considerably for the Wire over the coming months as team confidence grows.

As for Ormesby, the lad is big enough to be a forward of the future & is definitely not averse to getting stuck in.

I would imagine they as in the coaching staff would have looked at this during pre-season and Ratch would have been their prepared choice. It is important to have a decent kicker so hopefully Bridge can step up and do the honours.

I would guess it was more cautionary as Bridge has rolled that ankle more than his fair share.

well done on the win today, deserved it in the end. i didn't think you were that good,if im honest you looked clueless for most of it and only wrapped the game up in the last 10 minutes byt which time, we were shot, having defend your own line for 3/4 sets at a time is very hard, penalties galore and our dropped balls put paid to any thought we had of finally getting a win.

the scoreline flattered you a little as you ran away with it in the last 10 minutes, which was always going to happen, no team can defend for 38 minutes and win a game of rugby league.
russell was superb for you and was the only wire player who looked like creating anything, evans and ormsby ran the ball in well, and westwood and waterhouse as always were dangerous.

but we shot ourselves in the foot with silly errors, half ar$ed efforts at tackling and some terrible discipline ( mr child seemed to think so anyway)

hopefully we will be a different beast when we come to yours

Tbf I wouldn't disagree with you, Russell does look like he's going to be a right handful, our defence is still the defence of old but we do look a bit naff going forward, I think Huddersfield beat themselves.

We were still misfiring, players not understanding each other, Myler's kicks were off, forget the kick to the corner as his accuracy is shocking and Asotasi is... needs...should....could do with....I give up with him.

it looks a good win for wire, which it was in the end, but it was more us losing the game than wire winning it.
i thought you were average for 65 minutes,as i said, we were shot to pieces and you took advantage of that, we didn't help ourselves and invited you into the game when we should have looked to put it to bed
unfortunately thats the difference between a good team and a great team, both teams look well of the pace at this moment in time.

Didn't he miss one close to the posts though at the end of an important game (Saint, Wigan or Leeds) that "cost" us the win ? Think he stopped not long after that.

Why not just pick the best kicker and then build the rest of the team around that. If GOB is the best kicker put him in.

Wigan did that with Pat Richards remember he won Man of Steel just for goalkicking a couple of years ago!

That was saints at home and it was a kick to tie the game with minutes left.

Hard to believe that was the same team who played in the second half, painful doesn't even come close to describing the first 40! Ratchford is a good kicker, his confidence has just been shot ever since the cup semi final last year.

A really good win and people are still whining.

We dominated every part of the second half. Monas and Mickey caused Hudds all sorts of problems out of dummy half and they couldn't cope with our go forward (Westwood and Waterhouse in particular). Still issues at half back and our positional kicking was poor again. Matty Russell's kick returns were good, he looks very lively and will be a handful for anyone this year. Really goods signs of improvement imo.
