I've absolutely not issue with Austin and Ratchford in the halfs.
I'm also happy to give Patton an extended run at 7 with Austin in the halfs.

He has made some blunders of consequence, but with him actually getting a shot with coach support rather than as a last resort, it would do wonder for his confidence.

Judging Patton tonite playing behind one of the weakest packs fielded in living memory is harsh. He will be lucky to get the ball in the opponents half

It's not about tonight, it's about the team on the field in October. Price has an opportunity to see what the back up is like in an emergency that is all. I don't think there's many that believe Patton is going to start in any of the meaningful games unless one of Brown or Roberts legs fall off.

Patton wasn't our worst half by some distance....however John Bateman was probably the best half in the whole game and he was in the pack!

Danny Walker to Wire.

I don't dislike Danny Walker, but apart from standing up to Chris Hill and having one good cup game (against his hometown club) I 'm not sure what he'd add to the squad that Brad Dwyer or Morgan Smith couldn't. Haven't we got a decent up and coming hooker that played in the pre-season friendly?

Agree with easyWire's comments. Future squad player, would be behind Patton for a bench spot.

He was in the club at the end of last week...ahem allegedly.

I have seen Danny Walker play since about the age of 7 and he is one of those players that never deserves to be on the losing team (like Roby). I know this is a bold statement but given the chance in a decent team he will be at least a dream team player. I was shocked when he signed for Widnes.
I just saw him play against my sons team for about 8 years and every game he was the stand out player. Saints will need a replacement for Roby and i cant see Parcell staying at Leeds forever so if we dont make a move i would think one of those two will.

It's not so shocking to me as parents of lads in our town know their kids stand a decent chance away from here.

I'd advise my lads to go to Widnes or perhaps Wigan and not let him play for Warrington or St Helens.
However there is a welcome emphasis on building a strong youth team, laced with Warrington kids...we'll see what happens under the new regime over the coming years.

I'd take him, he's been great fot catalans, won't have the cap space unless kev brown retires or leaves though I don't think.

Agreed, we cant afford Brown, Austin & Drinkwater on the cap when there are more important areas to strengthen.

Certainly looks like Brown is staying on for 2019, so doubt Drinkwater is an option for us, but I agree he would seem a good fit for Austin

Walker is easily a better nine than Patton. There's no way Patton would get a bench spot ahead of him.

Shrewd signing I feel and a good interchange for Clark. Still only young and got lots of potential. Warrington lad too.

I don't know why everybody suddenly thinks Patton is a forward when he's had a few spells off the bench as a 9.
He's an out and out halfback and if we continue with Ratchford at fullback for 2019....then I want Patton at 7 with Austin at 6.
