Its the same story just being re-worded by different journos. The interview with justin after game yesterday started it all off and he actually said " i would love him at this club" and he also said repeatedly " it would be great to have him in SL". He didn't say yes we're gonna sign him! Media twisting words as usual, I'm sure it will be announced shortly.

He also does a interview with wish fm and states his spoken to Barba a number of times and that he wants him at saints. Says his hopeful a deal can be concluded. So if his saying that and barba was in saints dressing room then he obviously hasent signed for Wire when this thread was set up. He may well sign for Wire but it's not done yet

Whoever he signs for it's good for Super League. It's 97% likely to end in disaster with him either being naughty again or doing a Sandow/Segayaro and doing one after a few games, but we'e got to celebrate the potential 3% outcome these days in Super League. He's an outstanding player and we need a few of those in SL.

League express, Mirror and most twitter websites say his signing for st helens. It seems its only you keeping the warrington line alive. But fair play if you're right.

Not even sure why we'd be considering signing a player, with his track record, who'll be available for 3 or 4 games of middle or super 8s, then he has hopefully one decent season and is back off to NRL laughable

Because in that one decent season he has he may help us win the Grand Final....highly unlikely though without further reinforcements.

With regards signing him in 2016, I'm sure we could have signed him, but Barba was more interested in a move to French RU, I'm sure the money on offer there was far greater than he could earn elsewhere.

Because he has more rugby league ability in his little finger than our entire backline combined.

Maybe he has, but so did Sandow and that worked out well. With the reasons for Barba's ban it's another example of Smith thinking he can rehabilitate reprobates.

I'm not sure I can think of any players who have successfully returned to full effectiveness after this type of issue. The nearest would be Hock (sic), any other candidates?

Ratchford has only ever been a (decent) stopgap at fullback. Much rather have him at centre, ahead of evans, hughes et all, if it meant a world class full back coming in.

Livett is expected to move to LF rather than centre in future, so team really up in air at the moment.

And I believe was the supposed successor and long term plan to replace Bert.

If the money is equal we would not be able to compete with Saints assuming he will be offered a house in Cheshire, obviously.
