The reasons why people don't go to games are numerous. Many reasons lead back to money, but don't presume that you can comment on anyone else's financial situation, citing your own as persistence. And don't bemoan people coming to support the team on their biggest occasion; that's completely asinine.

The ones that will come out of the woodwork are the casuals that hardly watch a game of RL in their lives but when there's a big game they will turn up so they can make an all day drinking session out of it and then goad the other team's fans at the end and cause trouble.

It's a shame they didn't turn up today, a couple of thousand of those would have had a great time with the Widnes fans.

Russell, broken jaw, broken nose and missing teeth and the officials said no contact with the head. Sorry not a Wire fan but I thought that hit was well out of order.

the lad at saints had a broken jaw(his name escapes me) when they played us..part and parcel of playing a tough game..for what its worth nowt wrong with both tackles

Just got home. Great game. Great come back!

Should have been a red card for the shoulder charge to Russell's head. The ref had plenty of time to let the video red have a look and did nowt.

Reality bites to be honest, in my mid-to-late teens it was always a case of 'i will go EVERY Wire game ever played', then of course you get a job, girlfriend, animal, money is less readily available for luxuries because you now live in your own place with a crap-paid job and over-the-top rent and Council Tax, and it becomes a case of 'well... i'll go when i can'...

I was going to say that RL is often called a working man's sport, and when the work doesn't pay well and your living expenses are (comparatively) high; there isn't always money for outside of necessities.

Whilst I agree, I think to be fair it's O'Brien's mate that has been the dodgier kicker regularly down the throat of the full back even today a 'defensive' attempt to the corner missed resulting in a tap.

On a positive note, I also thought that England had a decent game couple of excellent runs that set the platform second half

His first carry in the second half was full of fire and aggression and he knocked 3 guys back. That was mightily impressive and set the tone for the second half.

When he came on in the first half he wanted to make an impression and I thought he'd mistimed the tackle and was looking groggy - great when we were 12-0 down (or 18-0, can't remember which)

The 2nd half Wire were a different team.
The first half was awful. Very very poor. Mistakes under no pressure, and I was ready to lynch Evans for his awful display and fannying around behind his own goal line. What the f*** was he doing?

It's alright TS saying that the guys knew they could turn it round - well to be honest - he and they were probably the only ones who did.
Widnes thoroughly deserved to be leading by a large margin and with a little more composure could have added a couple more tries in the first half.

A word of congratulations too to the Widnes fans who turned up in large numbers and outsung us on our own patch.
That was impressive.

Both this and the Leeds match are what play off rugby should be about - not the farcical one-sided matches on Thursday and Friday.

I said he is Warrington best back currently and that we need our best players nearest the ball.
If past games this season are a yard stick...

Difficult one to judge today. Bridge apart, most players were like the curates egg - good and bad in places, some more than others.

Undeniable plus points though (superb Bridge display aside) were England & Atkins. The former was, I thought, our best forward over the 80 and Atkins continued his recent excellent form, with an aggressive, controlled and incisive display.

Short turnaround and another player down, but we live to fight another day and hopefully, this time, for the full 80 minutes.
