| Ever growing list of dead wood who don’t contribute anywhere near enough. As good as J Clark May be at training, he’s not making an impact in a game, he’s producing the same as Tasi (who I agree is garbage) who’s getting hammered for it, but Clark seems to avoid any backlash. BMM is a glamour player, a luxury. We could afford to carry Solomona in 2011 as the rest of the pack were dominant. We can’t now. He should roll his sleeves up and get some work done. Westwood despite being well rested after another ban, didn’t do anywhere bear enough. Goodwin, Livett and Patton have ability somewhere but just aren’t showing it at all. Goodwin in particular yesterday was dire.

In a word Yes. Good spot. It really doesn't take a rocket scientist to spot this and I have wondered for a while now about the tactic of our defensive line walking forward 2 paces and then stopping and waiting for the opposition forward to attain maximum speed and collide with a stationary object. It is asking for trouble and don't give me that nonsense about conserving energy and / or maintaining a defensive line. Just at least continuing to walk forward will close down the space and reduce the effectiveness of the attacking player. Lui and Hastings had a field day and Salford fully deserved their comfortable win.

| Salford were making big yards with possession sets ,just like Saints last week ,where we just had Plan A. 3 or 4 good breaks we made were ruined by poor finishing. Salford were clinical & enterprising & thoroughly deserved to win.

| Is there an unwritten law that dictates that we must kick off to the same player in the same area pretty much every time ? For a small fee I could introduce the word 'variety' to the Warrington coaching manual

Agree with this as well. What is that all about. Get rid and concentrate on the game

| Quote ="Gazwire"A fit BMM is quality. I could be wrong here, but I’m more than happy with Currie, Hughes and Westwood/Clark as our back 3. They just need a rocket boost up their backsides. Currie is still recovering though. If he regains anywhere near his old form-he’s the best back row in the comp. He’s tough, strong and handling skills of a half back.
We just need a rocket boost.
(By the way, saints look the real deal. Coote- really, really good signing)'"
When fit there is no doubting his quality but has he ever been fit during his time at Warrington? He’s far too heavy, hit him round the knees and chances are he’ll end up limping off. He’s only bothered about what happens in the opposition 20 as well. He needs to lose weight and get back to the size he was at Salford. If he can’t I’d be getting rid as I imagine he’ll be on decent money that you could spend more effectively. Not watched Clark as much as you obviously but when I’ve seen him he seems a bit like Paulo for us. Not the best, not the worst but a questionable signing.

You’ve totally changed BMM as a player from his time at Salford. When he was with us he was an 80 minute wide-running second rower. He’s now a 10-15 minute crash and bash prop forward. He reminds me of Feka Paleaaesina now.
With the reduced interchanges these days, a player like that is a luxury you can’t afford.

I agree but think that Perry Boy has a bit of a point.
I like BMM but do you think that we are too predictable in how we use him and therefore opposition can plan for him? I'd like him to do bigger minutes, not only to spread the load in tiring teams out but to keep them guessing. A short ten minute window each half doesnt give them enough defensively to think about, three or four bullocking runs and if he's not gone over or caused real mayhem it's a case of see you later better luck next week.
Also I might get slaughtered for saying this, I might be inpatient or over optimistic, but, how long do we think we have to wait for Ben Currie to show up as an attacking force?

We've waited 4 years for Jack Hughes to do the same so 10 games for Currie is not outrageous. At least we know Currie has the skills to sport breaks and make space for a centre ...

Or variation.
I like the high ball. The higher you kick it, the longer it lingers, the more time the defender has something to think about!

I think that was my point Currie has all of skills and a rugby brain to use them whereas Hughes IMO has had to work harder and rely upon a work ethic for his place, solid.
I'm not asking for Currie to be dropped, far from it, the lad can have as long as it takes to hopefully get back to where he was pre injuries. My question was/is how long do we think that will be and will there become a point in time when it might be reasonable to expect a bit more?

Good grief.
Wire fans money is just as valuable than any other fans.
Why would I deserve any less than you?
I would also question the better team....however out played u have no argument....completely.

During, after and since the game I haven't heard any Wire fan say anything different.
But if we played you ten times, how many times would there be a similar result/performance.

Isn't the high ball used when too far out because the defending team have done a good job. Kicking the low ball to find a mistake comes from a good attacking set and close to the try line. We rarely get close enough on the 5th to kick for variation.

Absolutely, this happened on Friday because we defensively backed off from the start, and our go forward was not up to scratch. The result being, Salford kicked on the offensive, we kicked on the defensive.

Firstly, BMM in the Grand Final was the perfect example of how not to use him. He should be playing a lot more minutes. He showed at Salford he was capable of that. He's a lot better than a luxury.
As for Currie, expectations should be very low for this season. A lot of players that come back from long injuries seem to have an initial burst before struggling for a while, then eventually getting better. I think his minutes should be managed.

| Just seen Price's post match interview on the WG website. True, he does mention the "training well all week" cliché, but the context in which he says it needs to be seen. He looks extremely weed off, which is good to see, rather than the jokey smiley way defeats have been fobbed off in past years.

| Whatever he says in the press conference after a defeat, doesn't sound so bad, as we haven't had that many.
Once you start losing regularly, whatever you say just has the tendency to grate with fans.
If the Germans had won the Battle of Britain and invaded then "we'll fight them on the beaches" would have gone down like "we trained well all week".

| I was at this game and it was evident that our forwards didn’t cope very well with the hot conditions.
But in my view we really need to ditch that kit, because the big primrose hoops at the front of the jersey, and big primrose squares on the back of the shorts, just makes it look like the players have got big bellies and big backsides, which make big targets for the opposition to fire at.
