Leeds are the only team in the competition currently, who can break your line from 60/70m+ consistantly. For the past two weeks they've been under pressure and that has been their release, the sort of sucker punch and it must be deflating as an opposition player. They had no pressure at the HJ, very little tonight yet posted 30 points (near enough) in both games, and they carved them from very little.

I thought they were sensational tonight in those conditions, the skill level for the Hall try was brilliant.

I've read your posts for a number of years JWP and conclude that your literature is both usually humourous and knowledgeable.

no one is taking anything away from leeds..... infact most wire fans are congratulating them.

leeds have an amazing record in winning grand finals....and tonight they played brilliantly and deserved their victory.

How is it sour grapes? Or unclassy. Just passing my opinion. If a team isn't performing, people will ask questions. Like when you were all asking for McDermott to be sacked. So you could say he was actually having a stab at his own fans as well.

Thing is, he's saying it like everyone was wrong, they weren't.

At the time of the criticism, they were 7th, the Catalans game that we all refer to where they behaved poorly, he acknowledged this himself etc, we went to Headingley and tore them a new one, so they deserved whatever criticism came their way, fully.

They've done extremely well from there, but it doesn't make the criticism they copped unjustified.

Anyhow, I like him, he's passionate etc. I thought he embarassed himself more thanking the sponsors, gaylord.

Anyhow ...

I have no problem with this being the insipration, but his tone & defiant body language was that of a man who was trying ram the criticism right where it came from, when undeniably the criticism was more than justified from all quarters at the time.

I like many others felt Leeds going into the playoffs from 5th would carry a huge threat and so it proved, perhaps I didn't anticipate this in all honesty, but it's been a special effort. Any RL fan surely can't begrudge Leeds what they've done and the manner in which they've done it, they've been involved in three see-saw encounters in three weeks and triumphed in all. They've scored some fantastic tries in less than ideal conditions and defended like trojans. I was rooting for them last night and they think they merit the title fully.

All this said, when I said they were cack in August, they were cack, sorry Kev.

The only thing is, Leeds' biggest doubters were Leeds fans and he commented about how good Leeds' fans were on minute but then said "and to all our doubters..." which was a bit daft.
