| If anyone performed like this at SJM concerts they'd be out the door. He simply has to be sacked or Simon and Stuart will watch THEIR club get relegated for the first time in our history.

I fear this will be like shutting the stable door after the horse has headed to the championship.

Agreed, if we lose to Wigan we should act immediately whilst we're still above the waterline. Hell, we should act now but we won't.

| I don't think I've known a professional side so unable to get the ball back. The nature of RL is that the possession goes back and to but if you get the ball against this lot you know you will keep it until you score, and then get it back again. And then if somehow you do surrender possession you'll yourself laughing at our last tackle plays.

Stable doors, waterlines, and the one bad apple who has spoiled the entire barrel.

| I’m not sure we can wait another week. Wigan may be a write off, but if we go and get steamrolled, that would carry so much baggage into the Toulouse game.
We need to at least compete and stay in the game, take some form of momentum into what could be one of the most significant games in our history.

| Let’s face it, bringing in Powell and his ‘team’ has been an epic failure. Clearly his approach, attitude etc just doesn’t fit- we may have needed some pruning but he’s literally ripped the roots out, there is no sign or sense of pride in the club - sadly even if he did go tonight. it’s looking bleak, Summer Bash here we come.

For me, the time is right now to give a caretaker coach two weeks to lift the mood before we meet Toulouse. The Wigan games a write off, anyway, but it would help the squad to get used to some structures for the final SL fixtures of this season.

| Must admit I am now wobbling in my support. Reason being 1) Real relegation risk now. 2) The same problems are happening week in week out. 3) No green shoots.

We have 6 games to ensure that the playing stock will still be in the P&B, as they will be nowhere to be seen if we implode any further and into the championship.

If he goes, the players signed for next year will still be there.
If he stays, what confidence do the board have, and the players, that he will suddenly be able to coach them after the disaster of this season.
The honest answer must be none.
They must cut their losses and clear out the whole Powell coaching team and the players he brought with him.
A fresh start needed. The club and supporters deserve better than the miserable performances, lame excuses, victimisation of players especially the younger ones, not to mention the loss of revenue because no one wants to pay and be depressed.
Nothing to lose by getting rid, everything to gain.

New coach comes in, will have to start bringing in his own players like Powell has done this year. We're back at square one.

| The silence from the club (as a whole) is deafening.
As I type, Mrs Goldblatt is watching a documentary on the Royal Family's various "**** ups" over the years, and the similarities are obvious .
The only difference being, the Royals acknowledged their "**** ups". Our board seem oblivious.

Not really if they are good enough. Tony Smith won a CC in 2009 - who did he bring in?

It's one way of getting out of the Holmes contract I guess.

Not necessarily.
The only ones the new coach needs to move out are the ones Powell brought with him who have had a negative effect. You know who they are.

| It's a difficult decision to be made by anyone at the minute. Keep Powell and hope all is well next year? Sack Powell and then what?
I have to agree that i'm running out of patience with him and we're not seeing any improvement in the team. If it wasn't his first season, our performances would have most definately got him sacked by now.
What i look at is teams like Leeds & Wigan. Leeds had a shocking first part of the season but they made the change and brought in a new coach. Ok, they're not setting the world alight, but with the same squad they are kinda going in the right direction, whereas we are not. They have just beat Catalan 36-32 after being 30-6 down. Our team would never be able to turn around such a deficit. Wigan, who granted have had Field and French back in the side after missing much of last season is more or less the same team as last year too. They were absolutely turgid at the back end of the season but a fresh coaching set up has turned them around and i would expect them to be at Old Trafford this year. Why has Powell not done this with us? Is it because he is a crap coach? If we sacked him now we would never know what he could do with our squad next year after giving him time. But i think patience is running out. If we don't get another win this season, there is a serious threat that Toulous will beat us, and could turn over Hull KR. Level on points, what if they beat Hull FC who are up and down like a yoyo themselves. We'd be finished.

The option for the board is to try and brave it out and hope for a better season next year, if we stay up.
Or
They can be really brave, admit they got his appointment wrong and make a change.
I know what I would do, I always had my doubts about him and got pilloried on here for it.
We will see how brave the board is now, the decision is massive and will show the supporters what they are made of.
