| The club can't really win with these fans meetings. Fans will always want more honesty but some stuff needs to stay behind closed doors and if they spilled all the beans it would probably antagonise the dressing room further and also create the impression that the club was a chaotic mess, and just give easy copy to journalists to write stories stirring the pot.
I think the stuff that was written up in that note sounds reasonable.

I have attended Fans Forums in the past where fans were able to ask any questions that they wished, without any vetting by the club`s hierarchy prior to the meeting.
There is absolutely no point in having a meeting where questions are pre-selected by the club.

Totally agree. Should be a respectful but open and honest forum. I’m sure Daryl would be fine with that, my great friend the superstar KissKamKarl maybe not so much?

But screening questions out from the meeting is more akin to North Korea or Peoples Republic of China than a provincial RL club Q&A.
If a sensitive question is asked the answer can be "Sorry, that's an area I cannot discuss at the moment, rest assured the matter is in hand and updates will be provided in due course".
That's much better than silencing the question, surely. Especially as it was initially labelled as a "sit down with the fans in the pub".
My biggest gripe is with the lack of serious sports journalism at the Warrington Guardian. Matt Turner is seemingly terrified of asking difficult questions. He could have been all over this season's events holding the clubs leadership to account.

Tony Smith used to attend the Fan`s Forums in his early years at Wire without anyone from the club`s hierarchy in attendance.
Usually, he had just one senior and one junior player with him.
I would only want to converse with and hear Daryl`s thoughts, answers and aspirations.

We have the headline "Warrington players "rattled" by Instability" Love Rugby League 23.06.2022. Pot stirred, anyway.

Paul2812 has close contacts with the club. I can only imagine he posted a pertinent question. I doubt the club are going to say they vetted questions.

| Lot's of people work on fixed term contracts and often don't have any heads up until a few days before the contract end. If this has upset their delicate sensibilities then professional sport is not for them. It would almost be more understandable if they were highly tuned virtuosos, but they aint.

| The questions weren't checked before hand i can tell you that as i was there and we were free to ask anything we liked.
There were a lot of questions that didn't get asked on the night as we ran out of time unfortunately.....
Questions can still be directed at Wire fans panel on twitter and we can try to get any answers.
Thanks

I asked a question about Minikin & Harrison not being registered on the live cap at the start of the season which was part of the reason Butler, Magoulias, Charnley etc were moved on, to fit them inside the cap. Yet you 'ran out of time unfortunately.' If I had more time I'd post a picture of Jimmy Hill touching his huge chin.

I am guessing you asked the question on the twitter page? I do not run that but can assure you there were so many questions asked we would of needed another few hours to get through everything.
I will on your behalf ask that question at the next meeting.
I get that people are sceptical of these meetings but can guarantee you that these meetings are for the good of the fans going forward, we are consulted on lots of issues like new kits for next season, promotions etc.
I have been in the fans forums in the past and this is completely different.
We are asked to feed in any information that fans would like asking so please feel free to send me any issues you have.
We all want the same

My only gripe with the one was how it was handled.
With the fanbase so restless, the minutes from this meeting should have been up within hours with a lot more transparency. I appreciate that's not your call.
I actually think the people on this forum are quite level-headed when it comes to what Powell is trying to do at the moment but my sense is that others (perhaps more casual fans) are a little angrier at our current situation.
Whether it is or not, to some this felt like a PR stunt to placate fans rather than a genuine attempt to understand fan frustrations.

| Imagine the kind of busybodies who would put themselves up to be elected reps....it would be worse than student politics.
My campaign would be
- Tony Smith as Director of Rugby
- Statue of Briers at the HJ
- Club badge goes back to the wolf in barbed wire that Cullen designed in the 90s
- Plain white kit with p&b chevron or thin band across the front
- Phil Chadwick as Head of Conditioning
- Re-sign Chris Hill
Lets Build Back Better.

Partly related to new kits then - The training range, can we actually have some in Primrose and Blue?, rather than all the other colours they keep bringing out.
Sage
Some weird illuminous yellow and blue.
Different shades of Grey
Black
Sky Blue
Navy Blue
Seems an absolutely scattergun approach, and nothing really is a must buy.
I bought the Marl Lomax Polo, which is Navy and Grey in the end but only because I had some store credit. I don't buy the shirts these days and just go for the training range, but at this rate I won't be buying any training gear either.

| I cannot really see what anyone expects to get from such a meeting.
Then to moan about it for days after ... that's worse. What crap ... some- one had a question that wasn't answered ... wow ... get real.

I might be overthinking this but they might deliberately have the training range in different colours or else people might buy those instead of the replica shirts which I presume make them more money.

Good stuff. I tend to go for the training range for the teams I follow. . It would feel a bit weird wearing a replica shirt at 37.
