Featherstone has a population less than Newton Le-Willows. Toulouse has a population of more than 1M.

There's 2 games the club could be handing out free tickets for home games...

We should stop worrying about selling tickets to away fans and look to increase our home support - that is what is in our control. Any French companies in Warrington we can sell a corporate offering to for our home games with Catalan / Toulouse? Can the club look to make money selling trips to Toulouse? Can we build ties & synergies with Toulouse & Warrington based companies to support youth tours of Warrington and visa versa, can we as a club look to partner with airlines / hotel firms to reduce our costs of travelling to France 2/3 times per year?

Featherstone's game with Toulouse this year was Featherstone's highest gate of the season, I imagine because it was built up to be such an event 1 vs 2 etc. We need to be much better at that as a sport, I'm not against the 'free tickets' option to be honest if its done in the right way, but it shouldn't be the default fall back tactic to when Catalan / Toulouse / London are in town.

The RFL / SL & the clubs need to look at ways to monetise the inclusion of Toulouse rather than worry that they are losing a few hundred fans travelling up the M62 from Featherstone. TV deal is key for any further development, from France, but there could be value in that for Sky too - if they can piggy back on a French broadcaster and supply 1 game every week from France free of change.

How about discounted tickets for French departments in local schools to stand in the away end?

A yellow might have been the right answer possibly, but then you'd open up the arguement that Maloney (forearm to the throat) and Tomkins (2 punches, just even more feable than Mata'utia's) would have had to follow him. Throw in McIllorum's trip and they would have had 10 men on the field.
