| I'm not so sure it was a penalty try to be honest, sure there was nobody else nearby but I don't think it's a given its scored if makinson doesn't commit the high shot. I think the yellow card was the right call as well because although it was reckless initial contact wasn't with the head. Lineham would have got 3 matched for that, I bet makinson doesn't.

| Tommy isn't dirty though remember? His exemplary recent record of 2 attacks to the head and 1 to the sweetbreads were completely out of character.

| Quote ="Saddened!"What three big mistakes were they? The Makinson decision was correct, sent up correctly by Moore. They have to be certain that he would have scored if Makinson doesn't foul him, not if Makinson isn't there. There is clearly plenty of doubt about that, so it's completely the correct decision. The yellow card for Makinson is the controversial bit there, his challenge contacts the elbow and it slides up to become a grab. There was an absolutely identical tackle by a Catalans player a few minutes after that didn't have the drama of a potential try and no yellow was given.
The other one people are clutching at is the incorrect play the ball penalty against Tomkins in the 78th minute, with claims it should have been a penalty to Sam instead. Again, completely the correct decision. Batchelor does impede him clearly, holding his head between his legs. That would have been a six again to Catalans (not a penalty) had Tomkins stood up and played the ball correctly. Instead he played it with his head about a foot off the floor and stepped over it. Harsh on Tomkins maybe, but definitely the right decision. A calmer, more controlled player would have stood up, moaned at Batchelor and got Moore waving his arm for six again.
The Coote foot in touch one does look farcical when you see the replay. But no one called that in the stadium, the Catalan fanatic neutrals near me didn't claim for it, the Catalans fans it was very close to didn't and even Maloney didn't spot it. Quite how I'm not sure but I'm going to go with the angled edges to the pitch at OT deceiving the eye. But that one I would have been raging about if it were against Saints, the touch judge has to see that. But it didn't decide the game, it's not like we scored from that play.
The supposed red card for Mata'utia was also a non issue. It was retaliation to exactly the same thing being done to him, so there would have been two cards being shown, not just him. It was in back play and Moore can't see that and keep up with play, so another one that is on the video ref. There were three high shots by Catalans players that would have been obvious yellows in the semi finals and I suspect that's what McManus and the Saints fans would have raged about had Catalans won it. That tells me it was just a tight Grand Final, you always get minor errors by officials both ways.'"
Red card for matautia is a non issue...really..he got a one match ban..or are saints being picked on again

Featherstone has a population less than Newton Le-Willows. Toulouse has a population of more than 1M.

We should stop worrying about selling tickets to away fans and look to increase our home support - that is what is in our control. Any French companies in Warrington we can sell a corporate offering to for our home games with Catalan / Toulouse? Can the club look to make money selling trips to Toulouse? Can we build ties & synergies with Toulouse & Warrington based companies to support youth tours of Warrington and visa versa, can we as a club look to partner with airlines / hotel firms to reduce our costs of travelling to France 2/3 times per year?
Featherstone's game with Toulouse this year was Featherstone's highest gate of the season, I imagine because it was built up to be such an event 1 vs 2 etc. We need to be much better at that as a sport, I'm not against the 'free tickets' option to be honest if its done in the right way, but it shouldn't be the default fall back tactic to when Catalan / Toulouse / London are in town.
The RFL / SL & the clubs need to look at ways to monetise the inclusion of Toulouse rather than worry that they are losing a few hundred fans travelling up the M62 from Featherstone. TV deal is key for any further development, from France, but there could be value in that for Sky too - if they can piggy back on a French broadcaster and supply 1 game every week from France free of change.

So did McIllorum, so it's even then? Maloney forearmed in him in the throat, he half heartedly punched him, which ended up more of a push across the face. You want him sent off for that in a Grand Final? A yellow might have been the right answer possibly, but then you'd open up the arguement that Maloney (forearm to the throat) and Tomkins (2 punches, just even more feable than Mata'utia's) would have had to follow him. Throw in McIllorum's trip and they would have had 10 men on the field.

Don’t forget Kasianos high shot on Roby or Garcia’s on Lomax (both worse than Makinsons…)

Don't forget the french "Halibut" could never count to 6.
Looking good for Warrington if they get to play Catalan in the semi final next year. They could get a bye into the final win or lose because that french toad won't let his team play in the final.

Go on then I'm bored so I'll bite. I don't hold out much hope for '22 in general but IF we manage to get there, I would like to play you in the semi.

| Let’s forget about Grand Finals it’s not like they mean much, it’s a knockout competition consisting of 3 games at most. What does that prove?

Much the same as the Challenge Cup then, and no-one seems to rate the LLS, so why play at all.

Joking apart Captain (and I don't this will come to pass) but I would take playing St Helens at their place in the semi rather than at Old Trafford. We can then not play Catalans when they beat Wakefield in the other semi final

| Classy touch from Steve Price to congratulate Saints in his goodbye statement. Could possibly expect it had he been in the Grand Final, but to bring it up outside of that was a nice touch.
