Playing devils advocate here, but it’s confusing to have battered Hull away using that same 6/7 combination and then today it all falls apart. Why is it suddenly the root cause of all our problems? Nobody was moaning last Sunday evening either. Strange.

Im not sure what going on with Currie, but he is a shadow of the player he once was... Injuries caught up maybe. he cant be lacking match sharpness, as he has played plenty of games now.

This is a comeback year for Currie, nothing should be expected of him. It takes an incredibly long time to regain your level after such an injury. I said it at Easter but he needs to be rested/dropped, whatever you want to call it. His body is probably burnt out.

Because it’s only papering over the cracks when we win, even when we win games I’ve seen and heard comments regarding Patton,yes it only comes out more when we lose.

Whether Patten was ordered off or not there was very little between him and Austin today other than one can throw a dummy and the other can't. Both couldn't have unlocked an average superleague defence if they were still out there now.

I’ve been in Patton’s corner so far. But I think he’s had long enough to find his feet and we’re seeing him at capacity. Today, I lost faith.

But that doesn’t make or break the team. The thing we lack is that killer instinct. The win under any circumstances mentality.

With both sides at full strength, Hull are more than a match for wire but the problem is we haven't been near full strength for over a year and a half now so I cant see it happening any time soon.
