Just read back the fans forum notes and as it stands right now Roberts is our only marquee, so if there is another top class player to come to warrant the spot I’d seriously consider making Currie the 2nd one, assuming he is as good as we was before the injury.

There are very few players on the sport of World rugby I'd have other than a halfback on a marquee. SBW, Inglis, Cameron Smith spring to mind.

I don't betray confidences but it is 100% correct: Sandow was the marquee player.

From what I've heard Sandow was on around £225k and big final appearance bonuses that i would guess was written into his contact that he must play...I've always questioned why Sandow played in those finals...he clearly wasn't fit in areas...not to discount making the finals without him.

So that's only 50k over the marquee threshold. He could have been shoehorned in without the marquee spot.
