I know in an ideal world that we want people playing for Warrington from the town, but at the moment it's going to be a little difficult.

The facts are, Warrington have Crosfields, Woolston, Rylands, Burtonwood, Culcheth, Bank Quay and Latchford.

Wigan have Pats, Bulldogs, Ince, Jude's, New Springs, Cuthberts, Spring View, Shevington, Orrell, Hindley, Westhoughton, Ashton, Golborn off memory.

we have a much lower number in our catchment, so we have to compete for local juniors.

The real test isn't how many come out of the filter, but Warrington finding a way to put more into it. There are huge areas without clubs, or with RU stronghold that need to be introduced to the game, and in 10 years time, maybe we can boast an academy like Wigan's

And of that fewer number we are not always successful at signing some of the better juniors who come from Warrington.

Which in itself is a vast improvement on where we were when I was playing junior rugby 20 odd years ago. At that time only Woolston had a team at every age group, for a long time other than Laportes who only sporadically had a team, we had no other team in Warrington at my age group.

You are correct there still remains big areas of the town with no junior rugby presence though, Birchwood and Grappenhall / Appleton / Lymm are probably 2 areas that stick out.

Which ones are playing Super League next season? Or in the last five seasons, come to that...?
