| I hope they both end up going, I've had enough of them. I want some commentators who highlight the good parts of the game rather than just court controversy.

| Their actual / perceived anti Wire bias doesn't bother me too much to be honest.
However I don't like the 'droning on' about a controversial point (in any match) when it's all done and dusted and the game has moved on.
They simply won't let things lie and that's to the detriment of the coverage.

| The biggest improvement to Sky's coverage (once Stephenson leaves!) would be to drop Cummings.
His presence necessitates his involvement and although Hemmings still wouldn't be able to resist droning on about decisions the instances would be much reduced.
The fact that Cummings calls so many incidents so hopelessly wrong is an accurate reflection of his inept arrogance when he had a whistle.

| I agree. Cummings gets on my nerves.
I like Stevo. He isn't so biased. However Eddie is. Even wearing a saints red tie, although Stevo wore blue to balance it out.

| Analysing the colour of his tie Yeah, everybody is out to get Warrington. Except the refereers, of course. Pretty sure I saw Thaler with blue contacts in, and that's all the evidence I need.

Why do you care? I thought you weren't watching any more?
Quote ="The Reaper after the Saints game"
All I can say about this game really is that it's really no surprise that hardly anybody watches Rugby any more. Shambles. Warrington will likely lift the trophy next week in front of the worst ever GF crowd just like Hull did in the CC and the RFL will tout it as a success because they're morons. People watch games last night (and they happen on an almost weekly basis) and know that this sport has absolutely zero modicum of professionalism and won't bother watching again. I'm not sure I will either. '"

Not discussing anyone out to get Warrington here. Just that Eddie hates Warrington and has stopped hiding it in the last couple of years.
Plus Thaler wasn't the Video Ref, and Thaler let Saints' spoiling go unpunished all game so you should be thanking him that you weren't on the end of 30odd points, but hey, of course you're all really bothered that you nearly lost by 4 points instead of 8 so you've all kicked up a fuss about it!

He he.
Saints still going on about this game and not got over it? Reminds me when you see an old tramp reminiscing to anyone that will listen "I could have been a contender" as they take another swig of meths.

When he first joined I thought he was pretty good. often fills in the technical details about calls that Eddie and Stevo clearly don't know.
He had become a pointless cheerleader for the referees now, to busy trying to back then up to provide any decent analysis.

| A normal sports commentator would say something like "I'm surprised he hasn't used the video referee there but what a try from Warrington where it was needed most"
Instead of stopping live footage to show half a replay and announce to the world it was a 100% knock on. Then harp on about it not only after the game but in the build up to the other semi final the next day.
The game looks amateur and unappealing to potential new viewers and supporters when the primary two commentators do nothing but sit there talking about things completely unrelated to the game and then tell everyone at home that the game was controversial and the ref got it wrong.
They may as well just say "Warrington are lucky to finish in the grand final this year. They cheated saints out the game and don't deserve it at all. We can only Hope Wigan nil them to install some justice back to saints. Because that's how it comes across, pair of weapons, both of them.
It comes to something when Phil 'I love Wigan' Clarke is the only one who will talk rugby and point out the technical things in play Warrington did well and praise certain efforts. The entire team needs a complete overhaul.
In the World cup Brian Nobel and Vossy made me realise how good Rugby league commentary could be. If the was a big hit there were no cries of "THAT SHOULD BE A STRAIGHT RED CARD! STUART?" "Yes Eddie, he quite clearly meant to decapitate him there". Instead there were shouts of "What a hit!" "BOOM!" "HAHAHA SIT DOWN" AND MY PERSONAL FAVORITE "THAT'LL KNOCK THE JACKET POTATO OUT OF YA"
At one point a fight broke out and instead of the conversation being "Well we don't want to see this in our game" "I agree eddie, for any youngsters watching"
Instead we got "Well Brian, this isn't really what we like to see is it?" "No this is exactly what you want to see! Two south sea islands going at it, emotions running high, its a world cup! this is exactly what the fans want to see, passion and aggression"

| Good post. The commentators damage our game, I can't think of any other sport that concentrates on the negatives.
And bring back the biff!

| Agree, totally fed up of them belittling the game courting controversy, I can't wait for Stevenson to be gone and hope Eddie goes as well. Any person new to the sport tuning in for the first time will just think then sport is a joke having listened to the experts talk the game down throughout the broadcast.
